I wanted to open my tailgate with my camper is hooked up. I actually cut some of it off and drilled a new hole as it is quite long.

I used this for pulling a relatively light RV trailer. I needed a hitch that was long enough to fold down my truck tailgate without hitting the lift jack when my truck is connected to the trailer. Everything clears with 1/4" to spare so I'm happy but this probably wouldn't work for a much heavier trailer. You WILL have to remove this hitch when not towing unless you enjoy tripping over a long bar sticking out from the back of your truck.

I had issues with my spare tire getting in the way of attaching a trailer. Houston extension from harbor freight and it looks sloppy and saggy. This fixes it and looks a lot nicer.

I ordered this to allow opening truck tailgate with trailer attached. Was initially concerned with long length decreasing stability when towing. So far, so good, hauling 4,000 pound RV with ~350 pound tongue weight! Very stout metal, no flexing while going down road.

Works perfectly. Add a few more inches to allow you to fully open tailgate. Highly recommend it. Good quality.
