I was traveling and my rear windshield busted out on my Kia Sorento, I got it fixed but found out later that some of the glass pieces fell into the trunk latch some how and I wasn’t able to open my trunk. I have Maxcare through CarMax but you have to pay $300 deductible and I was hoping I wouldn’t have to spend that after I just had to pay $400 for the windshield to be fixed. I found this piece here ordered it and my husband was able to pop the trunk remove the old one and apply this new one and I haven’t had any trouble since. It was very easy installation as well. Probably took him like 10 minutes.

It only took 10 minutes to install start to finish on a Kia Sorento v6 2019. No experience necessary. Followed youtube videos. The door handled had metric bolts though not Phillips head screws.

Our latch broke suddenly and needed to replace. At the dealership to replace parts and labor was over $600 so I found a wonderful how to video on you tube and bought this part. Delivery was very fast and came packaged nice and secure. Watched the video then went to work replacing this part. 15 minutes to replace and it’s saved me tons of money and has worked great since then. Definately order and replace yourself if you need this. It’s a really easy fix

So there I was. We are a military family and PCS’d to Germany. After 2 months of staying in hotels & temp rentals we were looking forward to finally moving into our rental house. Moving day is when Murphy decided to lay down the law. My wife’s 2016 Kia Sorento was planned to be our primary moving vehicle to haul our bags to the new place but, as luck would have it, the trunk latch decided to fail the morning we needed to be out of temp housing. Improvise, adapt, and overcome! We grabbed some rope and tied down the hatch by using the hatch handle and the headrest of the passenger seat. Then we immediately jumped on Amazon to start looking for parts. I knew that the local Kia dealership would charge me $500 for the repair but only if they could get the parts which typically takes 3-5 weeks for American vehicles. I figured, “Hey! You’re handy and these other people reviewed that it was an easy install. You can do this!” So I placed the order and Amazon shipped it to my APO in about 10 days. Let me tell you… the hardest part of this install was taking off the trim but there are really good videos on that huge site that hosts videos. You know which one I’m talking about but I probably can’t post the name here without this review being blocked. Anyway, bottom line, I didn’t have my normal arsenal of tools. I had a $10 IKEA tool set with an adjustable wrench and a screwdriver and I was able to get this replaced in about 20 minutes. If you have a socket wrench, you can probably be back on the road and can ditch the rope you had holding your Jed Clampit-mobile together in 10 minutes!
