I loved this thing at work. I run camera wires with it. The at&t guy stole mine that I left in the attic for an hour so I'll have to get another.

I had one of these and lost it. It is the perfect size for small jobs. It is easy to get into tight spaces due to its small size, but it has a long reach to keep you from having to crawl into very tight spaces!

Worked fantastic for pushing and pulling cable in ceiling. Using with other glow sticks allowed VERY long gaps (almost 12 feet) to be bridged from over 8 feet away. Cleared bathrooms with solid ceiling easily. Highly recommended. Rigid, light weight and easily extended and collapsed. Z tip is a great attachment.

I had bought a different grabbing device for my son for Christmas as he and his sons often play disc golf and it’s hard to get to the discs sometimes in the brush. When I was with my son a few weeks ago playing disc golf, I made a really bad play and my son went to get it for me. I asked, where is the retriever I got you and he said it got broke. Soooo, since he really did like it and used it, I bought this one to replace it. It appears to be made a little stronger … hope I’m right. I’ll update my review after he’s had a chance to use it for a while.

This has been a great product for us where we might have had to crawl through a half basement to grab a wire or in angled attic ceiling unable to crawl to the edge. The only thing I am disappointed in for the last 20 years is no improvement "beefing up" the brass threads that hold the Z Tip. Both of our others still have an old bent coat hangar taped on the last section for a hook.

I use this tool when playing disc golf. Great for getting discs out of the water and down from trees. I’ve recovered many discs using this tool. It’s a little long in its collapsed state to carry on my bag but it’s worth it. I did replace the plastic/rubber 4inch cap with a rubber stopper which makes it a little smaller. I do not have any experience using it for its intended purpose. The ability to screw attachments onto the end is great because it comes with a hook that makes it easy to get the disc out of water and to create you own attachments such as a clamp.

I've run cabling professionally for more than a decade, and I do like this wire fishing rod. Not a huge fan of the hooks, especially the Z hook. I handed a co-worker my new rod with the Z hook installed and he did what it says what you not supposed to do. It was closed too fast and the Z hook installed, and it put a slit in the second of the smallest pole lengths, which I wrapped in electrical tape to fix. Unless its a very open ceiling and a short pull, I don't use it to push a cable(s). I often use it across steel rafters or in a cable tray, and tape cables to the smaller end, and use it to pull a cable along. I just don't trust the friction lock of the sections to hold when pushing when there is heavy resistance.I do love how small this rod packs down to; I can easily pack it in my rolling tool chest unlike the longer screw together push/pull rods out their.

Very versatile wire pulling/pushing device, if you can keep up with the two specialized hook ends! The length of this one (about 10 feet) is ideal for use above suspended ceilings... I have previously had much longer push rod sets that screw together to make very long 40-50 foot sections, but it becomes difficult to run cabling over a suspended ceiling over that kind of distance, plus it's not good 'best practice' to have a cable run that is not support at least every 5-6 feet anyway, so really a 10 foot push rod like this one requires you to open up the ceiling every 6-8 feet, so you can then properly support your cable runs using tywraps, etc.. Unit appears to be well made and should last a long time if you take care of it and don't abuse it.
