Worked great with my aerogarden and was easy to use. I was able to successfully start seeds with these grow sponges. I mostly needed grow sponges but this came with so many extras including labels and tags, which was great because I was running out of mine. This is a good set for people starting out or just need to replenish their stock. Value is also pretty good, you get 36 sponges plus all the extras.

This hydroponic pods kit is an essential for anyone using an indoor garden system like Aerogarden. The grow sponges are high quality, and I love the 36 pod labels and plant labels that help me stay organized. The kit provides all the tools needed for successful planting, from the tweezers to the extra pods.Pros:The kit comes with everything you need to start growing, including sponges, labels, and tools. The grow sponges promote healthy root growth, ensuring great results.Cons:The tweezers could be slightly sturdier for better handling of delicate seedlings. The pods might not fit all hydroponic systems, so double-check compatibility.

Although the 85-pack is really only 36 pods, I still think they are worth getting. They work just as well as the original pods and fit in my Aerogarden without any issues. I plan to save the plastic pod base, as you can easily reuse them by investing in more growth sponges to continue planting. Also, they are designed in such a way that you can easily transfer your budding plants to your outdoor garden should you choose to do so.

The good: The hydroponic sponges fit perfectly in our LetPot and AeroGarden indoor hydroponic gardens, and they seem to be just as good as the original sponges that came with those gardens when we first got them. Likewise, the little stickers (that you use on top of the sponges initially, to help prevent mold when starting a new seed) seem to be nearly identical to the OEM stickers. Overall, you get a lot of sponges and stickers at a good price with this set.The not so good: The set includes 12 plastic "plant labels" that, well, I guess they're fine, but if you write on them with erasable marker they could even be re-used forever I suppose -- but I'd rather these not have been included, as they seem unnecessary and a waste of plastic. There really just isn't enough room in these little hydroponic gardens to stick a label this big into the works, so they feel mostly like clutter. And while the plastic tweezers in the set are a more useful than the plant labels, they're pretty cheap and clunky plastic tweezers -- so, again, they seem like a waste of plastic. I'd rather have some decent metal tweezers or none at all. Tweezers aren't really critical for dropping seeds into the sponges anyway. And then there's what's missing from this set: There are no directions (but I guess the assumption is if you're buying this set you must already know what you're doing), no plant food, and no plastic plant "baskets" (for holding the sponges). Now, if you have one of these hydroponic gardens, then you should already have the baskets that came with the gardens anyway, and, to be fair, the product description doesn't claim that any plant food or sponge baskets will be included -- but some of the product photos do show two such baskets (within the context of showing how the sponges fit within the basket), and these types of hydroponic supply sets, in general, often come with some spare food and/or a couple of spare baskets -- and, well, although I wouldn't want a ton of spare baskets (again, that'd be a waste of space and plastic), having one or two spares can be handy for when the baskets break, etc. Basically, I think including one or two spare baskets and/or a little bit of plant food and/or slightly better tweezers would've been more helpful than having 12 plastic plant labels and clunky tweezers in this set...On the other hand, even if you're buying this set mostly for the sponges -- and the sponges and stickers were the only things I really needed more of anyway, actually -- then this set is still a good deal. I haven't been using them for a long time yet, so we'll have to see if they hold up as well as the regular name-brand sponges (which are single-use anyway; but they do need to hold together in the water while the roots work through them, etc.), but so far so good.

All the items seem to be of good quality, and the price for the bundle is great! I am looking forward to seeing my first lettuce and kale seedlings coming out.

I have tried three different replacement sponges, and they all appear to tb the same. Again, this is made from Peat Moss, but is a little "harder" of a shell than the original Aerogarden sponges. They DO work but seem to take a wee bit of extra time to germinate seeds - but they DO germinate! MUCH cheaper option that just works. Always soak your sponges about 30 minutes before using.Pros1) Inexpensive - awesome price - fills my 50 count starter trays!2) Just work3) High Seed germination RateCons1) A little stiffer than the original which requires a slight more germination time - probably as it takes a little more effort for roots to break through.Reminder: Please remember to soak the sponges first. The baskets are not included - not sure why people think baskets are included.
