First off - manual tile cutters (“score and snap”) do have a learning curve, but in my case I’ve owned a smaller one for years and have cut hundreds of tiles so I’m familiar with the technique and operation. I needed to cut some large format porcelain slabs (10mm thick, 36x72”) and saw decent reviews for a fraction of the cost of a traditional manual cutter capable of tiles this big. I’m writing this review to save you some broken tile - this thing is not capable of cutting strong porcelain in 10mm. It is likely fine for easier to cut, smaller ceramic tiles but that’s not what it’s advertised as… it says it can cut porcelain, and it just can’t. After destroying one slab, I did a number of test cuts and never once got a straight snap on anything wider than 6”.Let’s start with the problems:* The suction cups feel strong initially, giving you confidence to try the cut. Problem is, they lift up a bit as you go across once locked in place, and it’s just enough to make the pressure when scoring not uniform. Thats why the pro-grade models have spring loaded handles that ensure uniform pressure, it’s key to a perfect snap. The handheld breaker is trash and the reason for the crazy cracks, it’s wobbly and impossible to align the triangle on the bottom with the score line as there is no indicator on the top (and even if you added one, there is so much side to side play that it wouldn’t be accurate.I returned it and spend triple on a Rubi TX 1020 that made short work of my project. Snapped 16 out of 16 perfect cuts on the Rubi without a cracking a single tile, went 0 for 6 with this one. Be warned - this is not a user error review. 22 cuts in a single day - every single one with the Rubi was perfect, every one with this shattered tile. Learn from my mistakes and save yourself some headache here as it’s big and hard to return.

After 1 month of TRYING I finally gave up. Cutter only worked properly in one project. Failed miserably in all following 3 projects. Suction cups will not hold in place when you trying to cut. THIS WILL ******MAYBE******* ONLY WORK WITH GLOSS POLISHED THIN PORCELAIN TILE. I WOULD DEFFENITLY RETURN IT IF I HAVENT WAIT MORE THAN 30 DAYS TRYING TO MAKE IT WORK.

This is a well made, pro-quality tile cutter, great for any tiles but especially for very large ones. The parts are all well made. The i-beam is sturdy and rigid. The text on the tool bag and the tools themselves are in what I am guessing is Chinese but it's not that hard to figure out how it works if you've ever manually cut tile before. Basically you score the tile and then use the tile pliers to break it, similar to most other manual tile cutters. Always advisable to go carefully and slowly especially the first cuts of a new job to become familiar with the tile. The only negative is the included carrying case is nowhere near the build quality of the actual tool and was coming apart, punctured, and ripped in places just from the shipping process.
