8.8" Differential Cover Rear End Girdle System Fit For Ford Mustang 1979-2004 Compatible With Bronco Explorer Ranger Panther
- Differential covers serve a few different purposes. The primary purpose of a differential cover is sealing off the axle once the differential, gears, and axles have been installed. Differential covers can be made from several different materials. Most OEM Mustang covers are made from cast or stamped metals which can tend to break under higher loads of horsepower.

- 2005-current Mustang if you use a panhard relocation bracket (not included)
- 1982-2012 Ford F-150
- 2012-Present Ford F-150 (Super 8.8, depending on engine and other options)
- 1982-1996 Ford Bronco
- 1991-2001 Ford Explorer (Solid axle)
- 2001-2005 Ford Explorer Sport Trac
- 1991-2011 Ford Ranger 4.0L models
- 1985-2011 Ford Panther platform vehicles
NOTE
Please attention:
The 8.8 rear axle first appeared in 1977, and from the '86 onwards, almost all Ford V8 cars, V6 Rangers and Explorers were equipped with the 8.8 rear axle.
With millions of them produced and adapted to different models, the threaded holes have sometime been machined a little short.
If you are in this case, just had some washers, or replace the screws with some 5mm shorter.

Coated my cover with grey steel-it. Looks awesome on my freshly rebuilt 8.8. The fill and drain are convenient and dont leak. Support bolts do however, I suppose I should have used thread sealant initially but there wasnt any instructions or sealant in the box. Rookie mistake I guess.
