This tool is perfectly suitable for the task of measuring brake pads. However, it is made of plastic and not durable enough so as to last a long time.

When I do my seasonal winter tire changeover I can easily use the gauge to check the brake pads and get an idea of how much wear remains. I wish I'd had one years ago!

First off, the product images make the brake lining tool look like it's made of metal and the listing states "Made of high quality material, durable to use " The listing is misleading, and the tool is actually made of cheap plastic that scratches easily.Secondly, the markings on the tool are so small you can barely see them, and they could easily scratch off.The tool will work in a pinch, but if you're a professional mechanic or a backyard mechanic who wants quality tools, avoid this.

Nice tool to check the pads on the vehicles. Safety is a top concern for the family so I like checking the pads instead of relying on the pad wear indicator.

The measurements are a hair off but honestly if it's approaching the red measurements; you mind as well start considering replacing pads in the next few months.

This is a simple tool, easy to use.Being made of plastic, I don't think this would stand the test of time for someone utilizing it on a daily basis. For the weekend warrior, this is a great value for sure.
