I bought this for splitting of smaller wood and it works great on softer woods. For harder wood it gets a little hard to hold on to the drill. I might look at making up a lightweight stand to hold the drill to make it a little easier.

I was really excited to get this as I have a ton of firewood to split. Went to use the smaller bit first and the log spun around. I braced it and tried again. Bit went in a about two inches and got stuck. Tried larger bit and it got stuck. When I tried to back them out the bolt came loose. I used an axe to split it enough to get the bits out. Sadly 😥 I am extremely disappointed.

logs 12, Firewood splitter drill bit 0Tried it on several woods and it was useless on any size, and level of seasoning or dryness. Simply stops regardless of how many times I backed it up and tried it. Give me a sledge and wood chisel.

Tried using this to split wood as soon as it went into the log it got stuck and my are twisted as well as the log spun. It’s very dangerous so be careful.
