I just replaced a SATA card which was giving me problems with this HBA card. It worked out of the box in an unraid install, and the drive seems faster plugged into this. All the components feel high quality as well. The SATA breakout cables are quite long too.

If you're using older server or workstation equipment and need more hard drives, this is a great way to do it. The card is already in IT mode, and the cables give you lots of room to work with for cable management.
