It worked perfectly, the tricky part was removing the old rusted one. I had to grind it off.

i had a flat on the 4th. after dealing with the spare winch that held my spare for over two hours, i finally decided i'll have to have it fixed anyhow so why not cut the cable and change tires. so i took my grinder and had it out in no time. next day the chevy dealer says they'll have to order the part which i have to pay first then i'd only owe labor. also that was projected as a two hour job. to order theirs was $460.00. then labor at about $200. that's when i found this guy here with my part and my price! oh and it came today and it was on the truck in about 20 minutes. shame on chevrolet.

I didn't get it installed in time for a return, just got around to putting it on. As soon as the tire got a bit of tension, the crimped end to hold to the cable popped off and the tire fell off. I'm thankful it didn't do that on the road. The plastic cover on the side broke too, so even if I try to fix it, the likelihood it would work in the future is slim.

After installing the device which fit properly and securing my spare tire, the cable snapped within ten minutes of driving. The tire fell off while driving! Thankfully, no car was behind me as there would have been an accident! Don’t buy this piece of junk. I guess you get what you pay for.

Came in a timely manner. Installed it, fit perfectly, works as it should. Would definitely recommend.

Installed it (easy enough). While cranking up the tire for the first time, the cable end (fixture that secured the tire) pulled right off the cable as soon as it hit stow position. The crimp to cable was not adequate. The blessing is it broke right then and not 20 miles down the road while I was pulling my travel trailer. That would have been a disaster. I replaced to old one before it broke (was looking iffy) and the new one breaks on first lift. Ugh. I pulled the cable down. Drilled out the cable crimp and added a proper loop back cable secure. Fixed. If you buy this hardware, secure the tire lift with additional proper hardware or you’ll lose your spare and possibly even cause an accident behind you.

Always struggled with my spare tire taking up space in the bed of the truck because of my being intimidated as to how difficult I perceived a replacement would be. It was so simple that I kicked myself in the butt when I was finished with the install. Definitely recommend this product
