Started leaking only after about 1500 miles. Save your self time and money, purchase your automotive parts from your local parts stores if you like customer service.

I ordered 2 seals and even my order says quantity 2, but I only received one seal. Either it will be shipped separately or someone didn't send 2 seals. Really hard to get my truck back on the road with only one seal. Not happy!

I failed to read the reviews on these seal and it cost me hours of my time. I had to replace a pinion seal and axle u-joints on the front differential of my 04 ram 2500. My driver's side inner axle had been weeping oil for years but never enough to warrant disassembled. I thought I would save myself time in the future by replacing it and the passenger side while I had everything out of the way. Once the job was completed I moved the truck 50 feet to the wash bay where I parked it until the next day. Before I started the wash Job I noticed a pool of gear oil by the passenger tire. Upon further inspection it was clear that the seal had failed terribly. After a few choices words I got everything set up and began disassembling it again to find the driver's side didn't seal either. With the seals leaking at this rate the vehicle is useless and cannot be driven for all of the oil would likely leak out in a short distance if it leaked that much sitting still. After a bit of research I found that most people had the exact same problem with these Yukon brand seals for this application. I wanted original equipment in the beginning but it appears you have to go through a dealer to buy genuine aam replacement seals, but that is not true if you have a part number. For my particular application the part number for the shaft seal kit is 74050016 (picture of AAM included in this review). The aam seal kit comes with both seals and new hub bolts for about the same price as one of these junk Yukon seals. Do yourself a favor take my advice I'm not some novice shade tree mechanic I own my own diesel shop and I personally have 20 years experience in axles and transmissions. On the other hand if you need the experience and like doing jobs two or more times these are the sales for you.

The recommended Yukon install tool did not help so don't waste your money on that. I stalled 2 on 2010 dodge 2500 front axle. One leaks and one is good. Easy to install old fashion way.

Did seal replacement because my drivers side seal began leaking. One of the seals seems to be just fine, the other didn't work and is leaking worse than the original one. It's very difficult to tell whether this was due to a manufacturing defect on the seal or damage during installation as these seals have an internal rotating element that is not visible without destroying the seal. That said I used a plug installer (threaded rod press) and had made sure that everything in the housing, axle tube and axle shaft was spotlessly clean. There was no wear damage on the axle shaft and the original leaking seal had no visible wear. This would lead me to believe that there was a sealing issue with the internal part of the seal, not the axle contact portion.
