Hand rivet nut tool tips
Choose the right size rivnut
- Measure the thickness of the sheet metal and choose a rivet nut with an appropriate grip range.
Drill the right size hole
- Holes must be circular; irregular or improperly sized holes will affect the stability of rivet nut installation.
Set right stroke
Adjust the stroke of the tool to prevent overloading and causing damage to the mandrel and rivet nut.

I broke the 8-32 mandrel from a different branded Chinese rivnut tool that I’d also bought on Amazon. These looked exactly like the ones in my set, so I took a chance and bought them. They work just fine. Probably from the same no-name factory as the original tool.

I tend to use too much force with the smaller sizes and yeah end up breaking them, thats totally my fault not the manufacturers these are fine so far and I think its safe to recommend them. Use the tools indicator for the proper squeezeCheers!

Personally I have broken a few mandrel this size. I know it’s just me. You really don’t need much squeeze to have enough but I tend to get it a bit too tight and mess the threads up of break the mandrel from time to time. I want to squeeze like it’s a pop rivet and we’ll that’s what I get; the mandrel pops in two just like a rivet does. Other than my learning curve these are awesome. It opens up so many ways to fasten things down
