I should have bought the smaller one. I was going to use this on my Honda Pilot but I couldn't really find a place on the frame to mount it. It is really good quality and looks great.

I was having issues with my 86 Ford Ranger with V6 heating up when in stop and go city traffic. I would have to turn off my AC to keep from over heating. I live in Arizona. We have in excess of 100 days a year, when temps exceed 100 degrees. It can get brutally hot. Hitting 112 for days on end. I noticed a previous owner had installed a plate style trans cooler in front of the radiator, in front of the AC condenser. It obstructed nearly 50 percent of the cooling system opening Using this trans cooler, I was able to mount the cooler below the radiator, from frame rail to frame rail in a transverse manner. I made 4 brackets using 1/4" strap steel. This allowed me to make up the difference in frame width, cooler size. Installation took about one hour, I don't have a trans temp, gauge. I did use my laser thermometer. Sampling the trans line going to the radiator, metal supply line, temp was 167 degrees F Returning line after the cooler, metal line, temp was 152 degrees F. So it seems to be working. I use synthetic trans fluid, Mobil 1 , I Change trans fluid every 20 k miles. I also have a smaller version of this style cooler on a 3.0L Ranger work truck. My air flow through the radiator and condenser is less obstructed. I have not had any rapid temp rises while sitting in traffic. I am also adding a pusher fan for safe measures. This new technology is an improvement to airflow in the harsh environment of Arizona. More people, more sitting in traffic,

Great product. Just be careful on which hose fittings you use, because the opens are close to each other and high pressure press-on hose ends may need some special extensions so they can fit on.
