The photo is what arrived. They sort of feel like ping pong balls as far as the texture and weight of the plastic. The magnetic tips work, and these should serve my purposes just fine as a teacher. No major complaints.

I bought this as a replacement for one of the activity boards we have with colors and numbers. None of these pens grabbed a single ball to move at all. Absolutely no magnetic strength.
