Works great and is very robust, bought this to replace my other installer after breaking it. This works great, removed and reinstalled the same Balancer that busted the other tool.

I had another puller that was too small and after making it work, that puller bent under high load. After using this puller with minimal effort the balancer came free.Tool seems to be intended for heavy use and well made

I was hoping to pull my Harmonic Balancer off my Boat motor and it broke during 1st usage. Now I have the tool to extract in addition to the Balancer

First time using a non cheap balance puller it went smooth as glass took a few to figure out how to use it it is unlike any other puller I have used with the middle bearings at the friction point I should get a few decades out of it, no impact required and with center adapters no damage to the crank threads and this will help with installing balancers also it is more expensive than many other tools that will get the job done I would have bought this years ago if I knew it operated this smooth. the bolts are better quality than expected highly recommended

You get what you pay for "most times" and this is a good example.Good:- Case is rugged and handy this is important to me with specialized tools I use once ever two months or so.- 2 out of three balancers I removed/installed no issues. (in a seven day period)- Components well preserved when they arrived no rust.Bad:During install:- Anchor stud 7/16x20 damaged 1990 Chevy 350- External push rod threads were also damaged but still usable.I did get the job done but I will have to find another solution the next time I have to do engine using the damaged anchor.I have had issues with Chevy in the past but I attributed the hard removal/install to being in a state that salts the roads in the winter when many fasteners will snap off even after taking traditional precautions/prep. Did not expect to have the issue in the PNW.The kit did pay for itself on the first use that is why I gave it a 3 star overall. If you do, or expect to do many balancer pulls invest in a better set up.I do not lend tools but if you do and get it back broken/damaged do not be surprised; probably not the borrowers fault.Recommend for casual use. If you are professional or active hobbyist I would steer clear. In the end it is my mistake going cheap/quick and the buck stops here.

Im the jerk in the how to video. This tool is near perfect. The hardware, the actual puller with its bearing, really covered my needs. I imagine it will for others. The thing is sturdy and can hold up to my 300ftlb impact just laying into it (although now I know better, can damage the crank's internal threading.)The only complaint I had after use was that the pusher piece that presses up against the crank's threads for pulling the balancer gets stuck in the main threaded shaft, shank, whatever, of the tool. Theres no way to grip it for removal, and even with antiseize it was too in there to get out without using a vice and some vice grips (i wrapped them in rags to avoid damage.)Maybe they could make that piece have a hex head, or just two flat spots like on an inner tie rod, so that you could get a wrench on there. That aside, it still deserves 5 stars from me. It's a quality tool that made my removal and install a breeze, and I'm sure it'll last through every removal I put it through. Probably lose it somewhere before it wears out. Some antiseize is standard on threads for a tool like this. Maintaining that slickness will keep the thing from ever binding. You'd have to wear it out by shaving the threads down, and honestly I dont think that could happen if you avoid impacts. The bearing in the plate is awesome too. Makes tough installs a breeze by applying even pressure to the balancer and taking away the resistance caused by the crank bolt (which would be rubbing on a bearingless plate otherwise.) Sounds smooth and quiet.Don't rent one of these from an autoparts store, don't cheap out and wind up having to impact stuff together. This tool is worth every penny.
