Paid 75$ for a 10 $ modual. Acell and duralast aint the same. Even was out the package when delivered. Ill payvthe extra yo gonto advance or something n get what I pay for.

Whatever the description says, this does not work on a 1996 F 150 5.0Caused stuttering and breakup of ignition.

I AM SURE THAT THIS MODUAL WOULD WORK GREAT IN THE RIGHT VEHICLE. MY 1995 BRONCO TAKES A BLACK MODUAL BUT THIS DID NOT WORK UNLESS I HAD A GRAY ONE FROM THE FACTORY. AMAZON NEEDS TO DO MORE REASURCH ON WHAT FITS WHAT VEHICLE.

Plugged it in and now I get surging under light throttle or cruising. Idle and hard acceleration is fine but cruising at low rpm or light throttle and the car surges.

I have purchased and installed 2 of these in 2 trucks in the last 3 years. I have been pleased with the performance gains. I installed the first in a 93 F150 with 5.0. The 2nd in my 92 F350 with a 5.8. The thing to remember for best results is first of all be sure to clean off the mounting surface and apply a thin even coating of dielectric grease. And before you start to install remove the negative battery cable. Once your done hook the battery up and allow the engine to idle until the temp guage is in the normal range. Then take it out for a 20 minute drive .This allows the OBD 1 type computer to adjust itself. Now check your timing and make sure you are at spec and your good to go. If you do not remove the battery cable for at least 15 minutes you will have run issues that drastically affect drivability.

My truck has the black module so from everything I read, this one should work fine. Wrong! Truck started and idled fine but was totally undriveable. Installed an OEM module and that worked perfectly. To bad because I was hoping for a little more performance and maybe fuel economy. Amazon refunded my money no questions asked.

Ford makes two different control modules, a black one and a gray one. This will only work with the BLACK Module. If your original one is gray, DO NOT BUY THIS!!. Both modules look the same and they both have the same plug. They are NOT interchangeable! If you put this into a vehicle that has a gray one, it will more then likely run, but it will start to miss and backfire. You may even break down and be stranded. The Accel catalogue is wrong with the models of vehicle this works with. So is the Amazon fit guide. Simply put, if yours is BLACK, it will work, if its gray, don't buy it. I had to find this out last summer when I purchased this. No one, not even Accel knew what was wrong. I had to research this myself.

You will not notice any performance gain unless you have a high energy ignition and a power adder so don't buy unless you are upgrading the entire ignition system.
