Although it said on Amazon that this part was compatible with my 2001 GMC Sonoma they were wrong ! Wasted all the time that I waited for it and the time it took me to take the old one out and try to replace it with this ! And now I am wasting time because I had to re order it and hopefully the next one will fit as it should

Ordered secondary air injection pump for my 2000 Chevy S10. The item was delivered in good time at a good price with a notice that original packaging was damaged (which may be why Amazon.com had a very favorable price). However, the pump was not an identical replacement for my vehicle: the inlet and discharge ports for coupling to hoses were both larger diameter than the hoses on my vehicle and the mounting bracket was completely different and unusable. I removed the mounting bracket and used the original bracket from my vehicle, which fortunately did fit the mounting screws on the new pump. I used short sections of a bicycle inner-tube and hose clamps to fit the hoses to the new pump. All in all the installation seems to work and has eliminated the check engine code P0410 that the original equipment caused. Post mortem on the original pump revealed that a wire had broken at one of the commutator bars on the armature so that the motor failed. I am disappointed that the new product was not as shown in the photo when I placed the order and that it was obviously for some other vehicle than my 2000 S10; however, I am pleased that it appears to be functioning as needed.

I needed this specific part for my 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix. I shopped around and found it for SUBSTANTIALLY higher cost locally.
