I was hoping this would work for me but it didn't. I tried for about 5 days to wear it after work but it only irritated my tendon more. The design itself isn't horrible and the pad is more firm than soft on the tendon. I wear a size 12 got a regular size so the strap fit perfect but it unfortunately didn't work for me.

Had minor surgery on my right achilles couple years ago. Had the achilles stretch boot and used it when my left achilles recently became very painful and caused me to limp even when walking around the house. Felt better for 5 minutes and back in pain right away. Almost bought an ankle brace because I didn't know these existed. On my fourth day of wearing this brace. Was able to walk in my work boots today (not wearing brace) without limping as long as I was taking smaller steps than usual. Doesn't sound like much, but it's a huge improvement. Was able to walk around my house this morning without the brace in far less pain. I wear this brace with sneakers and helps immensely. I'm currently able to walk around my house with no issues thanks to this brace and my condition is improving by the day.Tip: The strap on the bottom of your foot doesn't need to be super tight. The strap around your achilles has a gel pad that should be somewhat tight, but not so tight to cause any discomfort. I'm a size 10.5 shoe and ordered the large. Fits good.

I was very skeptical of something so basic looking doing much of anything useful. I had already tried other fancier braces and wraps, air casts and boots, and stretching boots/braces. They were all big flops. But this little thing INSTANTLY provided relief from the moment I put it on. It has provided daily support and relief for a month now and still in great condition.I find it easiest to wear and go about my day, easiest to wear with shoes. I can wear it a full day with no discomfort and I have full control over the tightness.Combined with elevating, icing, stretching - this device has finally gotten me to the point that my tendonitis is no longer a daily pain. In just one month! The only negative I could mention would be what others have mentioned - the velcro at the bottom edge will irritate for the first few days until it gets worn in.Give this a try, I hope it gives you relief too!

I tried on a similar product at physical therapy. Hook and loop tape was sharp agains my skin and the hooks were facing my skin, a beading, uncomfortable all around. After 24 hours:This brace is very comfortable, fits well, and relieves the achilles pain that would not go away.Positives, smooth tape, fits my 9.5 USA high arch foot well. Minimal hook/loop, and it hides well when wrapped, no need for sock under. Wore overnight, no am pain, yeah!Issues, I wear Crocks for heel pain. This binds at the top, OK with a sock over, otherwise incompatible. I have prescription orthotics, and the lower strap is very evident when worn together. Compatible for hours, likely not all day.A keeper!

I'll start my review by saying I'm not quite sure HOW this works, but one week in, it has worked VERY well for me. I THINK it has something to do with how it pushes and bends the Achilles in a way that allows blood into areas that don't normally get it and it really helped the healing process. But I don't know. I am 40 yrs old and suffered from chronic Achilles tendonitis for years. At least 8 or so. I was a semi regular runner and that's when it first developed. But I'd take long breaks and it would go away. The past two years I've been pretty active. No longer running because it is the surest way for the tendonitis to immediately come back but basketball and racquetball weekly. My achilles tendonitis has become pretty bad to the point I'm afraid it will tear. When I get warmed up I am close to pain free but can sometimes feel it burning/smarting. But afterwards and in mornings/after periods of rest it aches very bad and is stiff until I walk around for awhile. I bought the brace and wore it for approximately three hours on Thursday night, October 17th. The next morning my achilles didn't ache. I played basketball Saturday morning and Sunday morning I barely felt it if at all. Now one week later I still don't feel it. I'm of course skeptical as that's my nature. I'm waiting for it to come back or tear because I did something to it with the brace. But so far it feels great. And I've only worn it once for three hours! I am super satisified so far but I will update it for some reason s*** hits the fan.EDIT: Well, tendonitis came back but it's not the bands fault. I just have some imbalance or something that stresses my right Achilles more than left. I actually have tendonosis now, with the nodules. The band still helps to get some level of healing and blood into hard to reach areas. I'd just say, use this before it gets too bad.

*** Update 02/11/19: I've given up on these. They just won't work for an active runner. There are much better options available. These are uncomfortable under the foot, and also won't stay put.** Update 01/23/19: I cut off the bottom two straps that go around the bottom of the foot and though it is more difficult to align the achillies support part, it does stay put and it feels decent. So that's always an option for runners. For every day use, these do work, but unfortunately they do hurt the arch area with the underfoot strap, when worn with running shoes that have proper arch support orthotics.. In fact, they hurt the bottom of the feet pretty bad. I had to rip them off 1/2 mile into my run.on the positive side, the pressure on the achillies does alleviate the pain!
