I bought the original acorn vase kit from the NY MOMA store online, and it did come with a little instruction book on how to sprout the acorn seeds, which is a pretty simple process. That being said, the MOMA one is $40, and I didn't want to spend that on another one as a gift, which is why I was really pleased to find basically the same product in this at only 15 bucks. However, it would be 5 stars if it came with instructions so people know what to do. You basically cause stratification inside a ziplock bag with damp paper towels; place your acorns in there and put them in the fridge, checking on them every week or so until the tap root appears. Once that happens, pull it out of the fridge so the acorn thinks its spring which will make the root grow faster and the taproot gets long enough, then you can insert into the vase. Once the root is in the water make sure the acorn isnt touching the water but the root is. Its so pretty to watch them grow. Hope this helps!

Worked amazingly, as advertised. I’ve attached a photo that shows the growth after 2 weeks in the windowsill. I winterized the seeds in the refrigerator in some paper towel for 4 months until the root sprouted and then slipped it in and the rest is history

I didn't see in the product description that an acorn was included. I collected some from under a large Live Oak making sure none had weevil holes which are tiny and hard to see but I have some experience in this. I put the acorns in the refrigerator in a plastic container wrapped in a damp, but not sopping, paper towel and checked them every week or so. It took at least two months before they started sprouting as in photo #1, I put one in the acorn vase and its root stated growing fairly quickly as in photo #2 before a shoot came out which has not emerged from the top yet as in photo #3. So, I am pleased so far.

Vase is a very pleasing shape. Having bought this for a relative, I was disappointed when she opened it and found there was no acorn present (despite paying the £2 extra to have the acorn included) so this essentially becomes an expensive bud-vase!

It comes without the acron or growing kit but the image and description infers that it is a full kit. Complete rip off.

Extremely expensive for what you are getting. Very small, thin glass, low quality but high price.

The description on this item is extremely misleading. It describes an acorn growing kit. It does not describe what exactly is in "the kit", but I am here to tell you that it is a very small vase. That is all. No acorn, no tools, and no other items that would meet the definition of a "kit". Amazon needs to step up their game regarding these types of sellers.

Description and photos make it appear to be an acorn sprouting KIT! But, it’s simply an overpriced vase. As far as I know, kits contain multiple items. Very disappointing!

I can get an acorn to split and begin grow, but then it develops green mold, sickens and dies. I'm guessing the water needs to be replaced often, which kind of turns the vase into a pain instead of a boon. There really is no instruction manual that addresses this issue.

This super cute jar is perfect for starting trees. So far not having luck with my first two acorns (bug in one, rot in the other) but my third one is starting to sprout!
