It was easy to install, which is good because there are no instructions. A button lock might be more usable because now I have to remember to keep a flathead screwdriver nearby to open the access door.

Door arrived per rough opening spec. But more importantly, the packaging ensured that the product would not be damaged … unless the delivery vehicle was in a horrible accident. My door has 5 locks (one on top and bot and 3 opposite the hinge side), which doesn’t match this product’s photos, but it’s actually better since it clamps the door tightly closed all around! Very Satisfied. Installation was a breeze.As a best practice, a stud butted to a trimmer stud should be used on both left and right when a header is required. The shorter trimmers on left and right bare the header and transfer the load down to the floor. The studs immediately to the left and right of the trimmers add necessary rigidity to the new frame.

Door arrived dammedSmall dent (probably from shipping) easy to repairReal problem was with one side of the door hinge. The door was assembled with a defect . Was very difficult to repair, but I made it work.

The box it came in was damaged. Who’s to blame, the manufacturer for not padding all corners of the door and Amazon for their rough handling.The door was scratched, the corner was bent. Not happy with all the screw holes to hold the door shut looks cheap. This is going in a laundry room to access attic. I was in a hurry for it so sending it back was not an option. Had to hammer out the bent corner and repaint.
