We have a medium sized dog that likes to pull my wife around when she walks him. We used the pinch collar to control this better. Our dog has a thick coat of hair around his neck and this type of collar is the only one where she has more control. Our old pinch collar kept dropping links and we decided to get a new one. This collar is constructed with good material and should last a long time. It is easy to remove or add links to make it the correct size for your dog. The tips of the collar have plastic caps. Our old collar didn't have them so I don't think they are as important, but after 2 weeks of walking the dogs twice a day, they are all still intact. The plastic caps also don't inhibit the use of the collar. The dog performs the same with or without them. I don't believe they reduce or enhance the training effectiveness of this collar. The collar easily clips on and off at the front and is quite easy to use. We did not find anything we didn't like about this collar. It is well priced for what it brings. Fully recommend it.

PRODUCTAdjustable Pinch Dog Training Collar Quick Release Buckle with Two Extra Links for Large DogsREVIEWOur very large Bernedoodle (107lbs) outgrew his old pinch collar that we only use on walks. So we wanted something a little larger. Using the sizing guide we got the large size. Honestly this looks like it made for a horse. That being said it works well and he does not pull as much on walks as he did with his old collar. Because the links are so large the collar does not fit flush (round) around his neck, they are all angles and sticking out like they are stuck, I am worried this is causing excessive pinching but he has not complained. I don't know about durability of the clasp, but so far it is holding up well. The clasp makes it a lot easier to get the collar on (before walks) and off (after walks).RECOMMENDATIONI think I would have been better with a medium size and adding the extra links. However I think it is a great value.

You can, with some strength, remove as many links out of the chain as needed. You can down-size, so dont worry about getting a collar that is too big.I really wasn't the biggest fan of putting this on my baby, but she's not over 100lbs and pulls so bad that I don't take her for walks anymore. This collar is the compromise that lets us both still get exercise. The collar itself is very sturdy, I expect it to last a lifetime. It's a bit finnicky to figure out how to use the first time, but once you get it (just look up a video), it's easy.

I'm glad I listened to the reviewer who recommended the medium for a dog with an 18" neck. That's what mine has and the chain is the perfect size. I had to add one of the extra links to keep it loose how I like it on my dog. The metal clip is nice and so much easier to take on and off than when I had to undo the chain on my previous one. Good purchase overall.

Good dog collar. I have used these collars in the past and just needed a spare to keep in my vehicle. I have 2 large dogs between 70-90lbs. Both are huge pullers especially when they see something (a cat, rabbit etc). These collars are much more humane than the choke collars. Obviously, these collars are excessive if you have a dog that does not pull; but for those owners with dogs that love to pull, especially big dogs this is a godsend. I would not be able to walk my dogs without them. The collar definitely put an end to the pulling, because it makes it uncomfortable for them when they tug. My dogs love walks, when they see the collar they get excited because they know it means walks. I bought the medium for my 70lb dog and added the 2 extension links. My other dog probably needs the large. This is the only type of collar that my dogs can also not escape from. Both know how to wiggle out of their regular fabric collars and my girl knows how to shimmy out of a harness. These collars are great for dogs that are pullers and for those dogs that pull houdini acts to squirm out of collars. The $8.90 price point is a good deal and the product is worth it! While I received this product for free, I will be buying another. The only con, is that the little black plastic caps on the "hooks/pinchers" can come off easily. Not a big deal though. The current training collars my dogs have don't even have those caps, so it really isn't a big deal for me. I am fine using the collar even if those caps fall off.

This prong collar is big, comically big. Not just large in the sense it has the length for big dog necks, but the overall size of the links are bigger and the metal is thicker than any other prong collar I have used of the same length. I adjusted it to fit our 80# dog by removing 2 of the links. I had an existing collar that did not have the quick buckle that this one includes and wanted it for the convenience. That one worked fine once it was on, but our wiggly dog made that process harder. This one is easier to put on, but physically much bigger. (see pic for comparison)The size of the links makes it very hard to addremove links, which is only done at the initial fitting. I can't imaging trying to use this without the buckle option, where you would need to squeeze a link on and off every time. They should include some width and thickness measurements along with the length ones in the description. It works but I think its overkill for all but the largest dogs.

The first one I got was too big, this one is the right size however the rubber pieces fell off while I was outside with my dog, which could have been very bad if she didn’t come to me when I called for her. Not sure if it’s faulty or they were just loose.
