I usually use the pipe over the trim cylinder and don't really like putting that much stress on the cylinder caps. I found this to be pretty sturdy and like that the spring helps soften when going over the bumps in the road (which living in New Orleans some of the pot holes are so big they have their own zip codes.) Just make sure that you have a roller on the back end of your trailer for this to sit on and you can adjust the length a little bit. Get your engine trimmed up enough to where you want it to ride and measure from the lower unit to the roller and make sure this is long enough.

It had 2 options to hook it up to the trailer. Excellent product. 100% recommended.

Love the spring on this. My previous version didn't have a spring and so it was really harsh and quite bouncy over rough terrain. This has smoothed that out a bit. I mean, not a ton lol.... but it has made a notable difference.

I know the older models weren’t the greatest, but this new one with the added spring solves all the issues. My motor is very sturdy while driving down the road. I have a 2023 mercury pro xs 4s

Installed it onto a late 80s trailer. There are two fittings though on my trailer the rollers weren't reachable so I needed to use the angled mount. My only minor issue is the holes were smaller so to mount to the trailers lag bolt I had to bore it out a bit. Was a quick fix and it works fantastic for longer trips.

Decent brace to keep the shaft from bouncing. The seesaw motion of the outboard during transportation will destroy your transom over time. Inexpensive means of securing it while hauling.
