This adjustable bar cutter works, it is fairly well made and I was able to get it put together without any issue. I would recommend a washer on the slide block for the wing nut. It included a one pre-installed wire and a couple extras. The wire has tension adjustment just like a guitar string. Once you get the block moved to your desired soap bar width and lock it down, it is very easy to get consistent results. Glad to have this in my soap making arsenal.

I am not as happy as others with this soap cutter. I gave it a star for ease of putting together, a star for size, and another for the extra wires, but took off for the lack of alignment and quality. I had expected this to be made of wood - and not plies glued together. This is not cheap to buy, but should be made of something that is not going to warp and at least align without having to do it myself. This will have to be cut more to make sure the wire does not scrape the wood. As illustrated in the photos, the wire is quite out of line, the arm wobbles - no matter how tight it is. I have a better cut with a cheese board than this. I have read other say about it's not a problem for the price - but it is to me. I wanted something stable and functioning correctly instead of having to be extra careful every time I slice a piece of soap so that I do not break the wire. This works but much more care that it should be. Not overly pleased with this.
