This product is robust and durable, with user-friendly features. While I did not anticipate exceptional quality at this price point, it exceeded my expectations and performed remarkably well. The assortment of sizes provided additional versatility.

Where have these things been all my life??Just started a pastel painting, completely making it up as I go, when it occurred to me that instead of using up an entire box of Q-tips like I usually do to paint with pastels; why not check out these new thing a mijigs that Amazon Vine sent me to review? They are WONDERFUL! Not sure if you can tell from my painting, because it is just in the beginning stages; but I’m painting/ using these things with both chalk style and oil pastels. And so far, I’m impressed.I’ll tell you why: Above and beyond the price of ~9 bucks for a generous allotment of tools, these things work really, really well. By that, I mean that when I try to blend chalk pastels with my fingers or q-tips, a lot becomes wasted. Either it crumbles into dust and falls off the painting surface making a huge mess, or it sticks to the q-tips and comes off that way. But with these spongey make up like applicators, when I use them gently to blend, I notice that less pastel dust falls off the canvas. Instead, it actually stays put, and is successfully corralled into being blended on the surface! And if that isn’t enough to make me happy; when I use these sponge applicators to blend oil pastels, I can actually dip them into OMS solvent and blend them like that. Or, I can remove the sponge applicator, and use just the plastic handle like a small palette knife! I suspect I will be thinking up many other creative uses for these as well.I’ve never used tools like these for pastel work before, and I’m thoroughly charmed by them. I don’t know if these have been a thing all along, or if there are other brands. All I can tell you is my opinion. And my opinion is this: at $9, I don’t think I can afford not to have them for my pastel painting! I suspect I’ll be using these pastels a lot more now, too. Moreover, I’ll be curious to see if I can use them for other types of artwork, too. 👍🏻

First of all I like that the sponge part is washable. These are great for blending dry media. I am an art hobeist and love to play with all kinds of media. These will work more precicely, I think, with oil or dry pastels, charcole or graphite. But so far, I have used them with wet media in a new technique I have been playing with, They work well for blending blobs of water based media too. I want to use them on acrylic inks as well, but need to confirm washability replacement tips before I do that. These may end up as a must have tool in my studio room.

I'm "famous" for saying a dirty finger is an artist's best friend. But you won't have to get your fingers dirty with these blenders. Yes, you could use a Q-tip but you still won't have the precision that these blenders will give you on pencil and pastel drawings. The handles and sponges are smooth and the pointy tipped ones will really get you into the smallest details.Just for fun (and to see if they could surge ahead of stumps and tortillons) I tested them out to see if they could blend watercolor pencils. They can. You'll probably still prefer using a brush or this (and perhaps alcohol ink markers) but it's nice to have the choice when you are only selectively wetting and blending parts of your drawings. My one suggestion is to be careful when assigning colors to your tips so you won't have to replace these as often.

The black plastic handles do not fit the rubber ends as well as they should. The rubber flopped around while i was trying to shade the side of a nose on a face. I just could not get the tip to go where I wanted it to. Folding the rubber tip in half while holding it between my fingers did work.

I'm not sure the product title does this product much justice. This is a very reasonably priced set of foam blending tips and the applicators to use them. For use with any kind of dry media, distress inks, and other media, including soft pastels and pan pastels.I love both the shaped foams, depending what I need.

I have just gotten back into charcoal drawing and these are great for blending and erasing mistakes! Great addition to my art tools.

As someone with texture issues (neurodivergence, anyone?), I love using pastels or charcoal, but HATE smudging them with my fingertips, the sensation makes my teeth curl. These are excellent alternatives, and better than fingers because of their fine precision. These make pastels and charcoal accessible again, and are very similar to the much more expensive tools made by a professional pastel brand.
