Bought this for a missing axle on something I bought that lost parts in the mail (open box). Easy to cut and drill. Amazing what can be found on Amazon!

The axle is long enough to fit most cart applications, but adding the setscrew collars and hack-sawing off the excess is easy enough. Lucky for me I have a drill press so I can re-install the Cotter pin in a different spot, but using the setscrew collars may serve the handyperson better. Oh, yes, the material is hard enough to serve as an axle for a medium load, and soft enough so it can be hacksawed and drilled-through by ordinary means.

A quality piece of steel. I used it for a custom project. Cut it down some and redrilled a new cotter-pin hole. Drilled with a hand drill, good bit, oil for drilling and cut it using a grinder.
