It takes about two minutes to assemble and is ready to go. Just pour your seeds into the waterproof bag, set the flow rate and when you turn the crank handle, it slings the seeds out evenly over whatever width path you set by how fast you turn the hand crank. Much easier than the old wheeled drop spreader. Just line up on an object on the other side of the area to be seeded and head for it. Then turn around, find another object to walk toward to keep you parallel to the last run. And this seeder stores in a much smaller area than the clunky wheeled spreader. Highly recommend. It is a quality product.

OK first, I'm not a farmer. My use is my yards. I don't know what it would be like to use one of these for forty hours in a week --- my use is usually an hour a month for the summer only. That said... This is an upgrade from my big box store hand held spreaders that I've used for decades.First, I converted to these carry-able spreaders years ago, and never looked back. The wheeled units I used to use in my yard were harder to use than just walking and carrying the seed/fert. You might not think so if you've never tried it, but believe me, it's much easier (unless your yard is absolutely smooth as a pancacke with no bumps, and your spreader's handles are at the exact right height for your body --- for me, those two things made spreading fertilizer more work than shoveling snow [albeit shorter in duration]).So years ago I switched to the hard plastic boxy broadcast spreaders you hold in your hand. Then this entered my life. Major upgrade. It's almost as if it was designed by someone who had ***used*** the product before. Handles in the right place, a shoulder strap, a higher capacity bag so you can carry more IF YOU WANT TO, etc. The thing (I don't know what it's called) that gives the fertilizer it's final sendoff before hitting the broadcast fan is bigger and more durable (hence it works better) than the ones I'm used to.Overall, this is a great spreader. Works well, is more comfortable to use. Big upgrade.Highly recommend!

This 25 lb. handheld bag seeder spreader is a durable, easy-to-use tool for spreading seeds, fertilizer, or ice melt. It’s waterproof, so it keeps materials dry and I don’t have to worry about wasting away. Loved using this for ice melt when the snow apocalypse came through!! Double use for fertilizing a portion of my yard in a couple weeks!

This seeder is pretty solid. I put it together and it was very easy to set up. I love that it's waterproof, that it has a shoulder strap and I can carry it with no issues, this allows me to use this for a longer time than if I was just carrying it in my hand. The seed spreader works well and spreads seeds across a fairly large area. Definitely great for spreading wildflower seeds or grass seeds.
