I used this to pump up the air mattress on my guest couch / bed - it seems to work ok, though I found it a bit fiddly to attach the pump to the mattress. Also, the instructions refer to a change in tone of the noise of the pump when the mattress is fully pumped up - I found this was not very obvious! I have not yet tried to deflate the air mattress.

We recently bought a motorhome more or less blindly because the previous owner had not a clue. When we unfolded the couch for our adult daughter to spend the night, we discovered it had an air mattress that required this pump to inflate, and no such pump was to be found. Well, we didn't even know a couch of this type exists, so didn't know where to go looking. Long story short, Amazon had one, which we received in two days. We plugged it easily into the mattress, plugged its lengthy cord in and held our breath looking and listening for leaks. Voila..in about two minutes, it was fully inflated, no leaks, and looking very inviting. We removed this little gem from the mattress, put the built in plug in the hole, and stored it for the next time. You can't really rate this device (which is flawless) without rating the whole system, which is also flawless. It is extremely comfortable, nearly as comfortable (according to her) as the new $1400 mattress set my daughter has in her home. As for this inflator, the cord is long, it goes about its business fairly quietly, and pumps up quickly...no complaints.
