This is a great way to mimic a starlight sky on your car headliner. It comes with the lighting module and the fiberoptic strands. Its a fairly lightweight unit, mostly plastic. It comes with 2 style plugs, cigar light plug and a standard home wall outlet plug so it can also be used other than a car. The lighting output seems to provide a decent amount of brightness to give a good visual. Installation is probably the most difficult and time consuming part though. I would say its a good start.

Okay, I have said this on many of my reviews about lots of things - I am converting a 5-window minibus into my tiny home on wheels. I have been working to get the main parts set up, but the thing is, where I am now, I am moving back, across country to where I want to be as a permanent location. Not that I'm going to just drive there and park forever, but the point is, I have several items I want to bring that will end up in a storage unit. The area where those things will be in the bus when I get on the road is where my permanent bed will be set up. I have a twin bed across from my kitchen area at the moment and that works for me for now. But the point is, when I am in my area and have off-loaded the items to a storage unit, that back area will be free for me to expand my bed from twin to queen. I have been thinking about my bed area and I want this fiber optic night-time sky ceiling above my bed. I tested some of the optics with a spare piece of 12x12 inch foam core board spray painted dark, dark blue. I used a heated wire to poke holes and threaded the fiber optics through, carefully taped them down with painter's tape so it didn't leave any gummy residue on the fibers and then leaned the foam core board up, propping it at an angle. I only used about 25 or so of the fibers, but even that showed me I'm going to have one heck of a night sky ceiling! This is a really, really cool kit and aside from this being an all-day - maybe two-day project, if you want something unique in whatever space you imagine this - your car, a home theater, a child's bedroom - this will be something that makes you smile when you turn it on, it's that cool! I can't wait to get my own set up once I get my bus' back area cleaned out and ready for my "permanent" bedroom with the coolest ceiling ever!

I am still working out the locations for everything, but so far it is awesome. Colors are nice and easy to route the fiber and not too short. Overall very happy, I had to separate everything out and work in small batches as you can get overwhelmed if you try to tackle it all at once.

I'm so excited about my top secret project. Put it this way, the fiber optics are coming from below your feet. I went for the 'medium' sized otpiton which is a TON of spool. It has two output lights. I do wish the base of the lights was a little heavier as the optic strands though light there's so much. They are meant to be cut to DIY your project. If you're looking for a cute lamp, not here, this is for albeit, novice to mid level lighting experience, it's the real deal. Out put is even, pretty nice color choices. Not overboard in the effect dept but that's ok with me. I don't want to be on Setting #138 cycling back to blue like a most RGB's are equipt with. Can't wait to do my project and post up it's completion.
