My undergrad clarinet teacher came up with basically the same idea from working with a luthier. The only difference, which I would love to see, would be turning all the edges up. But, nonetheless, it works well and gets reeds nice and flat! Bravo to you!

It removes material from a reed in very small increments ....which you want because taking too much off after a few strokes can permanently ruin the reed. Also there are no super sharp edges to cut your fingers with and it is small and handy and can be easily stored in an instrument case. There are numerous YOUTUBE videos from clarinet and sax teachers plus one from the manufacture on how to properly use the product. The first day I saved over ten sax and clarinet reeds which paid for the tool.

Awesome tool for balancing clarinet reeds. This little tool is easy and safe to use. I used to use reed knives or even razor blades to fix reeds, but the risk of slicing my fingers always scared me. Definitely check out the YouTube videos showing you how to use the tool.

This product works exactly the way it is described. Solid easy to hold, and accurate. You will still need sand paper to close the bottom of your reeds, this is a great product.

Great product! Evens out the imbalance in woodwind reeds! Improvement would be a cloth bag with a closure, would make it easier to keep up with!

Getting back into Saxophone playing after 60+ years, so I need a soft reed for now. The only ones readily available are strength 2 or more. This easily allows me to change a #2 reed into a #1.
