I just finished installing the awning myself. I was very satisfied with the quality of the awning for the price I paid. Once installed and adjusted, it preforms very smoothly. My installation was difficult due to the wall I installed it on. It was brick surrounding a sliding glass door with not much headroom. Adding a 2x6 header and attaching to that solved that problem. The biggest issue I had, and the reason I only gave it 4 stars was the installation instructions. They are not very clear and the videos associated with the installation were also not clear. Some had zero narration, such as the installation of the sun/wind sensor (optional). Other then that, I am totally satisfied with the product so far.

We like our new awning very much. We got the motorized 20x10 ft (3 arm sets) to shade the space between our garage and carport. The arms came pre-installed onto their main support rail section, which made the whole assembly relatively easy to finish the installation. Some advice I have is to inventory your hardware (ours was missing the 3 bolts and nuts securing the main rail onto the wall supports). Not a big issue since I already had some hardware that worked, but you might expect to make a trip to the hardware store. Not sure why, as the box didn't come damaged or open (although the large subassemblies inside could have used better padding to prevent them denting and scratching each other in our case), but I read that it happened to other customers as well. Also make sure to read the whole installation manual and watch some videos (available from both -the manufacturer and the DIY-ers) to become familiar with the entire process before starting the installation work. The install manual is not perfect but better than many I've seen, detailing the steps with clear text, drawings and pictures. The assembly isn't very complicated, but it requires good attention and some basic-to-moderate skills, so it won't pose a challenge to most mechanically inclined people. Take your time and have some help when lifting the assembly up in place. It isn't terribly heavy but it's best for safety. I assembled ours myself and only had my wife helping with lifting it up in place. However, since ours is the largest size available and the whole assembly would have been quite heavy, we chose to first get metal frame up separately and after securing it on the wall supports then we brought the fabric roll and front rail in place, which we fed it into one of the side roller supports, rested it onto the center roll support, and then I loosened the other side roller support to slide everything in place and resecure. Went in like a charm, and then I adjusted the arms inclination to their very top position which still gives enough slope given the fact that it extends 10 feet out and just the arm flex alone under the canopy weight is giving enough slope for rain water to drain. Now, honestly, although the metal framing seems solid enough to support a little bit of rain water pooling on the canopy before making its way out from the edge, we will try to avoid having the canopy pulled out during rain, just to avoid stressing the mechanisms. After all, it only takes one click on the remote and it's motor that does the job.Bottom line we are very happy with the way it looks, the way it operates, the canopy material is thick impermeable polyester which we'll see but we hope to last a long time and considering the price we paid and our intended usage, we are happy with the deal and don't mind being careful with the way we'll use it.UPDATE 7/29/2024:As the awning came with a free fabric offer when submitting a review with photos of the installation, I decided to take them up on it but I also requested that the fabric be of silver gray color because my original gray fabric is a bit too dark for our liking and as we're thinking to get another awning for the right side of the house, we wanted it to be the silver gray option and want to have it match the one we already have. We didn't have much hope to get any fabric in the first place, considering that the offer states that the supplies are limited, and secondly, the offer also says that the free fabric color will be selected at random.Well, to our great surprise, the very next day after emailing them my review pictures, I got an email notifying us about the shipping order for the free silver gray awning fabric. So, not only their offer was honored but they were nice to also ship us the color we wanted, and fast too. Now, considering the customer service we get from sellers nowadays, which generally range from poor to non-existent after you make the purchase, I have to praise them for going above and beyond their promise because that is rare these days. So, hats off for people like them, so if you decide to go for their product, you can be sure that they will take care of you in case of any problems or requests you may have post sale. We will sure be getting another awning for the other side of our house. Thanks guys, you're AWESOME!

Item arrived quickly and was well wrapped. The build is fairly simple, but NOT for the faint hearted as the instructions leave out a couple of important parts, and the package contents were different from those shown in the instructions. You can figure it out but it takes time. I would have thought a company like this could spend a small amount of time to update the written instructions to a higher standard than "poor". Luckily there are enough online videos around that enable you to piece it all together. Pairing the remote was easy - just watch the video first. My remote was different from any shown in the instructions/video but the P2 button principal was the same. Again, slack manufacturer for not updating the instruction sheet imagesItem was heavy when completed (13' x 10' awning with motor)... but using ropes from an upstairs balcony I was able to hoist it up and install it alone... though 3 people on ladders would have been better! Hardest part was installing the brackets into a stucco wall - had to weld manufacture my own brackets and use extra long bolts as there was a 6" gap behind the stucco fascia before reaching some beams. Check your mounting wall BEFORE ordering.Items works well, but does make a few groaning noises when closing from fully open. Took me 3 days to install (alone).Have fun.

Most negative reviews on this awning had to do with installation instructions.Just 2 of us ( my wife & myself ) had no problem installing. We put up the framework first then put up the roller with the fabric. Last installed the motor.Works awesome. Time will tell how it lasts.

This is a terrible product. I’m a very handy guy and it took us 4 hours to try and put this together. We went thru the written instructions ( not worth the paper) and the you tube Aleko has and neither explained the many issues in construction. Peices do not fit together( bad machining) screw holes do not line up, their are parts with no instructions that make you guess as to where they go and when they fit in.They’ve cut the length into 3 peices to make shipping cheaper, not only does that make it virtually impossible to build but the finished product isn’t strong. We bought a similar 16 foot awning about 5 years ago for another home and it came ready to go up, never had any problem with it, this one is a joke.DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY UNLESS YOU HAVE A PROFESSIONAL INSTALLER TO PUT TOGETHER.

If I could give less than 1 star, that would be my true review. Do not buy this item, save yourself from a very frustrating experience. This is the worst piece of equipment I've ever bought in my life. Assembling instructions: Very bad translation and in some areas, it does not make sense of what they are trying to convey, vague, incomplete, leave you wondering every step of the way. I had to do a lot, and I mean a lot of Google and You Tube research to figure out how to install this. It shouldn't be that hard!! Tip: Do not let the arms lose before you attach them to the front bar! Quality: Cheap, weak construction. Design: I am no engineer but it seems that the structure that holds the arms or even the arms are not strong enough or properly placed to hold a 20 feet awning. Motor and remote: Boy, the instructions are horrible as well. When it finally worked, it was very difficult to adjust the path of the fabric with a plastic hex tool mostly because no instructions were provided. In conclusion, I installed it, tested it, adjusted it, tested it and adjusted it again and again until I made sure it worked and when I was finally going to officially use it, the motor started slipping inside the round bar that brings the awning out and it would respond to any adjustment or even the remote. I disconnected it, brought it down and packed it to return it! It took me several hours of sweat and research to install this and 1 hours to bring it down; at least that was painless! I am currently waiting for my refund!!!
