I had two extra shelves, so this fit my next exactly. They looked just like the ones that came with the shelf originally. I recommend them. Just make sure you order the right diameter posts.

I bought these rods to modify the height of a shelving unit made by the same manufacturer (that’s the only way I could ensure the rod diameter would fit - as they seem to not be universal). I was able to *cut them to a shorter length in order add to the shelving unit. This allowed me to maximize the space the unit went into (height-wise), gaining much needed storage. The old adage, if you can’t build out, build up. Worked perfectly! Btw, I should note that I also purchased additional shelves, also made by the same manufacturer. I now have an awesome custom shelving unit that exactly fits the space as well as the items I needed to store on it. *The only thing I wish, is that the manufacturer made/sold different lengths, saving me from having to cut them. The whole thing did end up being a bit costly but I did get what I needed so I’m happy.

The extension poles were very good quality.Warning to others who might be purchasing these to go with a shelving set you already own. I thought everything about this type of shelving was standard. However, the thread size in this product was different than the shelving I already owned. You may want to look for extensions from the same vendor that sold you the shelves.

The positives: solid, sturdy, came with connectors and feet, excellent price. Alas, they are just a smidge too large for the supports and extra shelves I have. Though the shelves do fit on the poles and seem like they would stay up, the bottom of the support parts were sticking out by about 1/2 inch so it didn't look right. It was easy to try the poles with the parts and shelves I had, so that's a plus, too. The seller took them back with no problem. I would probably come back to buy whole sets in the future.

I purchased a number of wire shelving units lately, and ended up not using all of the included shelves. I figured it would be cool to try to make 1/2 height shelving units out of the left-overs.These poles were offered at an exceptional price, equal in quality (heavy, standard size, complete with caps, joining threads, and adjustable feet) as those you'll easily pay 2-3x as much for elsewhere. It's really awesome to find a quality product at a great price. And my 1/2 height shelving turned out awesome!

The product received was good but it took 2 weeks to receive it. From Toronto it should be max 3 days. No wondering why it’s expensive, waiting at the last minute to ship them next day mode. That is expensive not the goods.

I purchased this item because, as it is described, at any time further posts can be purchased and added to the ones you have. When I received the item, I put the plastic caps into one end and the foot levelers into the other, only to find that the posts were not vertically symmetrical: in other words, at one end, the first groove for the shelf clips started about a 1/2" from the end, and at the other, the first groove started about 1" from the end. So one of the poles, as it turned out, I had inserted the cap and leveling foot on the opposite ends as I had the other three, so the grooves for the shelf clips didn't line up. No problem, I thought; I just take them out and switch them. I tried prying the plastic cap off with a screwdriver. The cap wouldn't budge; instead, eventually the plastic lip of the cap came off altogether, leaving the rest of the cap still firmly in place. Then I had the happy thought of putting a dowel inside the post, and bouncing the post on the dowel to push the cap out. The dowel eventually punched out the center of the cap, leaving at this point no plastic lip and no center, but the plastic ring of the cap still firmly stuck in the post. Since I can't use any of the posts (nor the shelves I bought to put on them) without addressing this problem, I still attempted to pull out the remains of the plastic cap, with the result that I pulled so hard on it with alternately pliers and screwdriver that one time I pulled without getting a good hold on the remaining plastic, and gashed my own face with the screwdriver, after which I called Amazon customer service in hysterics. I realize my clumsiness or accidents are not the fault of the manufacturer or vendor; but clearly no part of an item which claims to be configurable in different ways should have a part that is this difficult to remove. Amazon customer service was very nice: the vendor refunded my money in total, because it was not possible for them to provide me only with replacement caps, as I requested; if I wanted replacement caps I could simply repurchase the entire item. I thanked Amazon customer service without saying what I was thinking: given my experience with this item, why on earth would I repurchase this item, any more than I would pay someone to kick me repeatedly in the arse? Finally, after getting the remains of the plastic cap out, I instead ordered replacement caps for the posts from another vendor who sells these caps separately and with whom I have had good experiences, Omega Products Corp. They very quickly sent me the replacement caps, which were, as one might reasonably expect, made of moderately soft rubber and can be inserted and removed without any difficulty. These posts should not be sold with the caps that they come with, unless the product description clearly warns that once you put them in, they are never coming out, and you will never be able to use them for anything else.
