This description is wrong, this is not matte. I put it on my wall as a touch up but now it just looks worse. Ended up returning it and now I have to fix my wall. Disappointed.

This black paint is gorgeous and perfect for small projects at home. It's a bit pricy but worth it if you don't need a lot of it and want left over for touch ups. Highly recommend.

Product description says this works on metal. No it does not. I did several coats following the label directions. Sorry to report this paint (I used the white) didn't cover it. Maybe it will be good on wood.I'll return to this review when and if I find a use for which this is acceptable. But it certainly does clean up easily.

I tested this out first on a wood riser/cake plate. It had a cheaper looking, uneven wood finish and aging, and I figured a nice matte black paint would unify the piece.Based on the label and advertising, I assumed Oslo paint would be similar to chalk paint or General Finishes. I followed the Oslo instructions and did not sand first. However, the beaded portion of the stand had an odd stickiness to start with, and the first coat of Oslo also ended up sticky. So I went back over those portions with a layer of primer, and then had to do 2 more coats of Oslo black to cover the primer. Luckily, after priming the stickiness was gone, and then Oslo covered it well.I ended up with a few bubbles on the top of the cake stand, and I have no idea why. I waited longer than recommended between coats, and the wood top was smooth and clean to start. I used very light coats as well.I was impressed by the smoothness of the paint and how far a small amount of it covered the piece. I could easily paint 30 of these things with one quart of Oslo paint. The black is a deep, solid black. When the paint first arrived, it did have a small leak from the edges of the lid. The lid sticks and is hard to open due to all the paint stuck in the threads. At some point I need to clean that off, but didn’t want to risk getting any water or paint thinner into the paint itself.Overall, I’m not feeling confident yet in this paint for heavy- or moderate-use furniture, but it works well for small projects. I’m looking forward to reading reviews of the paint on walls and furniture.

The short version of this review is that this is nice paint with great coverage and a very nice finish. The highlights are:Packaging (5/5): The paint came packaged in a sturdy cardboard box (packaged inside of an Amazon box) and arrived undamaged. The jar is plastic like most comparable paints, and also includes a seal to keep the paint fresh (something that many other products do not include).Coverage (5/5): I am planning to use this paint on a large mobile workbench project, but wanted to test it on two potential surfaces first. I applied the paint to scrap pieces of primed pine and unprimed oak plywood (pictured) and achieved great results with both. Unsurprisingly, the primed wood required only one coat for complete coverage. The unprimed oak plywood also looked great after one coat and really didn't require a second coat (as you can see from the attached pictures), but I went ahead and gave it a second coat anyway. The close-up pictures show the coverage achieved on both pieces after two coats.Finish (5/5): The finish of this paint is VERY good. After working with various interior, furniture, craft, etc. paints, I expected the finish to be fragile, but that is not the case at all. I was not able to scratch any of the paint off or even leave a scuff mark on it with my fingernails. Also, I used a pretty cheap, coarse bristled brush from a big box store to apply this paint just to see how the brush strokes would turn out, and they were only noticeable when inspecting very closely (more so on the pine, which I painted a little heavily and also across the grain of the wood). In summary, this is very nice paint (particularly given the cost) and I definitely recommend it!

The satin sheen gives it a luxurious look, while the true white color is versatile and chic. The best part is that there is no need for sanding, which saves a lot of time and effort. The paint is also water-based, low in Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), non-toxic, and made in the USA, making it safe for you and the environment. The pint-size is perfect for small projects, and the paint provides excellent coverage and value.

I love everything about this paint. It’s smooth and glides on easily. I used it most recently to repurpose a dresser for our bedroom. I didn’t have time to sand it as much as I would have liked, but it didn’t matter because this paint makes it easy to paint virtually any surface and it still dries smooth. This will be my go to choice for paint when I need it for furniture because it’s the best I’ve used by a long shot. It has no odor, it’s silky smooth, goes on easily and dries quickly. It checks every box for being just what I need for repurposing furniture. I plan to use it next for some wood shelves I’m painting. You won’t be disappointed with this paint!

Good paint with a smooth finish using a foam roller. I don't buy the no sanding part though. I highly recommend a proper surface prep with any paint.I want to mention that the paint arrived well-packaged in a box. Five stars from me! I hope this helps to make a decision.
