This is a junk design. I mounted these on a brand new rifle and went hunting with it for the first time. The rifle only weighs about 8 pounds and I walked maybe accumulatively 1.5 miles with the rifle slung. The pin that goes through the sling stud is just pressed into the hole. Fortunately, I was holding the sling while it was on my shoulder when the bottom pin must have fallen out, so my rifle didn’t drop. Wasn’t great carrying my rifle for another 6 miles on that hunt due to these “heavy duty” swivels failing during light use. I do not recommend them, I’m returning and looking to another brand.

Perfect for most hunting rifles. They look a lot stronger than the ones I replaced. So far so good after some moderately heavy use.

"Allen Magnum Swivel Set, Tested to 300 Pounds": Mine arrived to read 500 lb test. Appearing rugged, strong. Fit well. the opening was wide but narrow. I think it fits most slings, but if you have a rare extra thick sling, it'll be tight. Mine fit perfect. I chose black to match the gun's metal, but noticed a brass or bronze colored version as well. I added a little low odor gun oil. Seems very quiet, perfect, and very sturdy.

Buying three sets from various makers, the Allen swivel set is the best in strength, working design that opens and locks effectively, and better machining/molding.Compared to the Blackhawk Lok-Down Sling Swivel Set (70SW088BK) and the Mossy Oak Heavy Duty Swivel Set (MO-SS1.25) the Allen far surpasses the other two tested. Mossy Oak is 2nd place winner. The Blackhawk sling hardware is the worst where the opening/locking failed to work properly. The Blackhawk is in the garbage bin with regrets of having purchased it at all.The USGI Pattern Web Sling of all cotton and fitted for the M1 Garand has a metal tongue on the end of the belt material. Because the Allen sling hardware is thicker metal and better paint coatings, I used a vise-grip to slightly squeeze the metal belt-end so it slid easily through the Allen hardware and works perfectly.The photo shows a close view of the Allen sling hardware on black cotton sling and the farther view of Mossy Oak sling hardware with a sage-green cotton sling installed on a long gun.

This swivel set is made of solid metal. They have a heavy feel to them and are easy to get set up. I attached them to my swivel studs and didn't have to adjust them or touch them again. I loved the quality and the nice heavy duty feel to them. I had no worries that anything would go wrong. I would recommend these to anyone looking for a safe and secure metal swivel set.

Very nice and well made solid swivels. They fit, work and look great. The knurled head on the locking screw is actually made of metal, not plastic. The set of Uncle Mike's swivels that I have, that piece is made out of plastic and just feels cheap. This is not the case with the Allen swivels, all metal. I will be ordering a few more sets of these to replace the other set of Uncle Mike's swivels that I have. No comparison, THESE ARE BETTER! These are just better fitting, looking and better made.Some reviews said that people had problems with slings fitting through the opening, no problems here. I am using an M1907 leather sling and it fit fine through these swivels. The only complaint that I have is where they are made, Tawain. If they were made in the United States, 5 stars all the way, but they are not made here in the U.S. but overseas, so you don't get 5 stars.

I had purchased a sling for my shot gun and needed the hardware to attach it to my Winchester 2200 pump shotgun. I happened to be on Amazon.ca and found that it was available online. I purchased it and it arrived in a few days. I followed the instructions and it fit my gun perfectly. It's a great product.
