What is Intake Manifold Spacer?

The intake manifold spacer is an insulator that is placed between the intake manifold and the engine to dissipate heat. ... When there's zero oxygen in the combustion chamber, the engine can't burn fuel, thus it can't generate power.

As far as power gain/loss: The only real difference in the Track and Street heat intakes is the runner length (and the Track Heat has no EGR provisions). The SH has 14" runners and the TH has 12" runners. Since the TH has a higher rpm range than the SH, Adding a spacer to either (i.e. adding length to the runners) would lower the effective rpm range some, and possibly add more tq (since that's what runner length helps).

Symptoms of a Bad Intake Manifold Gasket

With repeated exposure to heat cycles, dirt and debris and lack of cooling system maintenance, the intake manifold gasket can become brittle and crack, leading to gasket failure. Symptoms of a failing intake manifold gasket include:

  • A sweet smell from under the hood with no visible signs of leakage on the ground.

Fits as advertised, gasket quality is lacking, but useable. The studs that go into the end are useless for my application, and I had to instead get longer bolts for the ends. Center 4 bolts worked like a charm. I tightened the whole shebang down to 20-FT/LBS. So far no leaks, but I haven’t really driven the truck. 5.0L is swapped into a 94 ranger. Allows the use of a return style 5.0L F-150 fuel rail.

The spacer was scoffed and marred up. Did not seal. Hardware was also the wrong length.

I had to get bigger valve covers to fit my roller rockers and this was just what I needed to still mount my EFI manifold without relocating my EGR. As a bonus, I can also change injectors without removing my manifold (barely). If I had installation to do over again, I would glue the gaskets to the spacer to minimize misalignment because it is impossible to keep everything perfectly straight as you tighten it. I'm sure I lost a little airflow with this.

Used this to replace a broken plastic unit I used first. This piece is awesome, fits perfectly and is much more cost effective than other phenolic ones on the market. The studs provided in the kit are crucial in lining up the piece with the 2 provided gaskets for an ultra easy installation. I couldn’t be happier with the product or purchase. When I took it out of package it surprised me how nice it is. Machined aluminum looks like an art piece I immediately thought too bad it's going to be mostly hidden under intake. It fits perfect. Negatives: Bolts look to be SS and theres 4 studs which is a nice touch but they are wrong length. They were also rattling around in package and thankfully only scoured one end of the spacer and not the faces.
