Excellent quality chrome plated steel.ALL OF IT IS STEEL.As you can see, I'm using hi rise handlebars that have the potential to transmit excessive twisting force on any clamp. I lightly sanded the inside of the clamp sideways and did the same on the knurl of my handlebars, sideways motion only. Not pressing down hard enough to remove very much material at all, just to rough up the contact surfaces a bit so they grab better. Then, I painted both surfaces with blue locktite using a q-tip. Used copious amounts of blue locktite on the two bolts. Tightened 'em down good with a long handled 5 mm hex wrench. Not quite gorilla tight, but almost.The little bolts did not strip out !Wonderful !Let everything dry and set overnight, even though the blue locktite product claims it dries in ten minutes.Success.Beautiful chrome plated clamp that is a lot stronger than it looks is securely holding my hi rise handlebars.Very pleased with this purchase.

The wedge didn't go through my head stock nut so i had to remove it. Slide it through the lock nut put the wedge back on then install it as 1 piece .Good knurl and finish Metric size fastners
