They came a little twisted at the tip. It's hard plastic they're made of. It's almost impossible to make them sound and the sound is nothing but horror. I've been playing alto sax for years and this is the worst I tried.

I could hardly get a sound out of my sax with these. I consider myself a beginner as I double on sax and play on a 2 1/2 reed.

I would not buy, it is too hard for my son to play and I can't play with them either. You are better off buying the Legere, 2.25 for beginners. The reeds here, the teacher can't play either.
