I placed this product on the side of the refrigerator that is next to the stove. I does the job. It works and I am very glad I purchased this. It deflects the heat away from the refrigerator !

The sticky backing was a disaster... totally didn't stick for more than a few minutes. Don't buy this.

We attached this near our motorhomes diesel exhaust. The product is subject to the heat of the exhaust but not in direct contact with the tailpipe. Within 2 hours of our first drive, the silver topping had already started to peel/melt. It was 190° f on the surface after 2 hours of driving so not crazy hot. The second layer seems to be holding up okay but the silver top is not as heat resistant as claimed and looks terrible. It peels a little more everytime we drive.

Wanted to keep heat from exhaust pipe from softening plastics on new Can Am 4 wheeler. Plastic still gets just as hot to the touch. Also heat wrapped exhaust pipe. I tried to help the problem. Not cured.

I can tell you that I can feel the difference in temperature in both side of my intake.I would buy again for other projects down the road that need heat shielding.
