I found this product at the exact time that I developed a need for it! Never having a truck before, I did not know that when its heater coil quits working it will fill your floorboard full of screaming hot water and antifreeze. By the time the water cools enough for you to start wiping it out, it has already soaked everything it's touched. That includes the heat shield liner that is under the single-piece rubber floor mat. You may think you'll just give it some time and it will dry out by itself but no, it definitely won't. Instead it will cause your windows to fog up randomly and when you try to wipe the condensation off it just smears because the vapor still has antifreeze in it. As soon as this heat shield mat was on its way I managed to get the other one out--it was still wet (and this was weeks after the flood)!! The new mat was the perfect size and self adhesive as well so I didn't have much trouble getting it installed. The only thing I noticed is that the new mat wasn't as thick as the old one, which will probably only be noticeable to me. So: perfect, workable size; great adhesion; problem solver!

This is a great quality heat shield. My only issue is that the fiber glass layers seem to be pulling apart before even using. I would recommend using some heat time around the edges to ensure it doesn't separate.

I used this heat shield on my racecar to protect the transmission tunnel from exhaust heat, and it works great. The adhesive could be stronger, though—it only sticks well if the surface is thoroughly roughed up. Once properly applied, it does an excellent job of reflecting heat and holding up under high temperatures.

This thermal barrier is really helpful for replacing aging thermal protection padding inside your car's hood, or for adding it to your car if you have an aftermarket hood that does not come with any protection. I have a carbon fiber hood for my car and it did not come with any thermal barrier, but with my upgraded exhaust manifold, turbocharger, and external wastegate and exhaust setup, there is a lot of heat in a small space, and that can impact the longevity of a traditional or aftermarket hood, so I wanted to get this product to help. This product is easy to cut and form and adhere to your hood (or other similar car body panels), and it holds well when installed on an appropriately prepared surface. To me the peace of mind is well worth it!

It surprised me because I thought it was good up to 2300 degrees Fahrenheit.

This heat shield is just what I needed to isolate two items in my shop thermally.I bought this shield for the water heater exhaust pipe from the nearby water pipes, but I had the additional benefits that the room was cooler. The exhaust pipe starts as a single wall then changes to a double wall. I wrapped both portions and noticed the different the next day. I recommend this heat shield

I ended up taping the shield to my fridge because the backing was too difficult to remove. The entire thing was already starting to separate before I even tried. I ended up taping it up. It does keep my fridge from getting too hot due to my gas stove needing to be right up against it. I was concerned my fridge wouldn't last long and also that my food inside would get too warm. It is not durable at all though, so only 2 stars. I think there are higher quality options out there.

This is an average sheet of adhesive backed heat shield with an aluminum topcoat. The piece I got is 20” x 23.5”, not the 18” x 24” advertised. So if you actually need a piece 24” wide, this won’t work. It is tricky trying to separate the backing to expose the adhesive but it can be done. Overall, it is an okay product.
