Fits perfectly on my rain barrel. Older one was chewed up by squirrels over the winter. This one works even better. Highly recommend.

Fits well in a 4 inch opening in the barell top and is sturdy. But it doesn't filter very fine particles just the big stuff. If you want cleaner rainwater you still need a fine mesh screen or filter over the end of the spout.

It is a rare grade of stainless that rusts before the paint is dry! Just an expression but I don’t think they made it for 30 days before the rust stain started down the side of the water tank. Note; I ran 1 short on the dozen stainless vents so I made due with one of aluminum I had ordered for a sample before deciding on the more expensive stainless. Guess which one still looks pristine? No rust, no stain down the side of a 600 Gal. potable water tank.

Four inch hole saw makes a perfect fitting hole. Goal is to let in rain water and keep out mosquitoes and leaves, and it does that well. Made in the USA is a big plus for me. Going to order another one. Garden likes rain water.Update: Rust away in two seasons.
