The one thing to remember with this glaze is that you need to put it on heavily as it turns brown if you put on less than 3 coats.

This glaze is a favorite! It’s convenient to order this way, when I live far away from any pottery supply stores.

This glaze provides beautiful and reliable results, but it must be heavily applied. Otherwise, it is just a glossy brown glaze.

Had I had time and my own ceramics shop, this is the only color I’d glaze all my pieces. I simply adore it! It works wonders if you apply some patterns, as all the uneven places get a lovely golden-rusty color.

It’s a really pretty cone 6 glaze. Depending on the results you want, you just layer it thinner or thicker. The thinner areas appear brown and if you layer it thicker, the bluer it becomes. If you look at my photo, the bottom coaster has 3 layers. The top one also has 3 but is layered thicker in some areas to create those different effects. I will definitely have to try this glaze with 5-6 layers to see how blue it can go!

This glaze goes on smoothly and cleans up easily. The colour can be variable depending on the thickness of application, which allows interesting variation on the piece.

Hi I did not like the glaze at first then found out I had not applied it thick enough. I had a gallon of it given to me as a gift so I wanted to figure out how to use it. It is such a pretty blue and the brown shows on the parts that are not covered as thick. The rims of bowls would be hard to keep blue but to me the brown with the blue is just very pretty. Also if you look at my pictures, the small bowl was a very dark brown clay, the others were light colored clay so that makes a difference in the outcome. I tried it over another color with bad results but now have looked at Amoco's web site and they show you colors with blue rutile on top or under other colors so I will experiment moreI am a retired math teacher, this is one of my hobbies.I fired it to cone 06 for the bisque and then cone 6 for the glaze. The small plate was a single fire to cone 6 all the others I bisque fired first.

This is my favorite of Amaco's potters choice series of glazes. It is absolutely gorgous on its own and applied over and under other glazes. I have combined it with glazes I mix on my own with great success. It is very popular at my pottery studio with my students, it was the first bottle of potter's choice glazes I needed to replenish. I have had some issues with pin-holing with the PC glazes but I have yet to have that problem with this one, at least applied by itself.
