I got these for a bathroom window. I didn't realize they were metal. I kind of wish they were just plastic but maybe the metal will be more durable? They are made with a slit down the length of the rod that makes it look pretty ugly and also makes me worry about its strength and holding ability. At least with the style of curtains I'm using, this will be hidden. The tension works by "unscrewing" it to be longer until it's pushing against the two sides of where you're hanging it. Sometimes the tension seems to bow the rod a bit.The combination of the non-screw-mounted design, the metal slits, and the small diameter of these rods makes me wonder if they could hold very much weight. And indeed, when I pull on it with my hand, it takes very little effort to pull it down/off. However, they do at least hold my bathroom curtains, which aren't super heavy but aren't a super light material either. These are extremely expensive for a pair of tiny flimsy metal rods. I don't think I can confidently recommend these.

These curtain rods are holding up sheer curtains in my window frame that measures 28 inches. I don't ever slide the curtains open, so they do their job perfectly for my needs. Not sure how they would hold up with a heavier curtain however. The installation process was a little confusing, but all you need to do is turn the rods in opposite directions, once you learn that, it is easy to set up.

Spring loaded bar that twist to lengthen the bar which expands quite a bit. The bar has held well and is sturdy enough for curtains. The metal itself is thing rolled metal sheet and the finish on it feels cheap, and does not fit well with nice curtains.

When I first opened the bag and removed a rod, I got a white, chalk-like substance on my hands. I measured the smallest length option as 36" and the longest as 46". The build quality of the rods is low. The material is thin and rolled loosely. The spring is held in place by a bend (or pinch?) at the end of the rod. Twisting action lengthens and shortens the rod. I will be using this for a small window curtain in a bathroom window. For this need, the rod will work. For any super light duty tasks, the rod should work. In the longest position, the rod won't be able to hold up much of anything, but for the shortest and half extended position, the rod can be made to hold tight.

I had a heavier curtain I needed hanging and wanted to try to not have to drill holes to hold up a rod since the woodwork is original to 1915 and in beautiful condition. I saw these and wanted to try them and I'm glad I did. I've never used a spring-loaded tension rod before, so it took some figuring out since there are no instructions, but it was pretty easy to adjust once I got the hang of it. The fabric is a heavy linen, and these can hold it well without having to worry about it falling. I recommend them for anyone renting or not wanting to drill holes in all the woodwork or walls.

I like decorating my pet mice's enclosure with things hanging from small tension rods. I usually get them from a chain store based in east Asia that's kinda like a dollar store for 13% of the price of these 5/8 inch adjustable tension rods and the tension rods I usually get are way sturdier.

Strong and easy to use. Just twist to lengthen or shorten. Great when you can't drill into a window frame!

I ordered these rods with the hope of creating a dramatic entryway to a couple of rooms for Christmas. The plan was to drape them with a lightweight artificial garland, a string of lights, and a few lightweight glass baubles. Uhhh…no.😕 The items weighed no more than what a pair of drapes would, but the rod began to slide almost as soon as I got it into place. I tried tightening it, but to no avail. Eventually I took off several decorations with the hope it would make a difference. It did not. I took off the strand of lights. Still no luck. When all was said and done, my decorative masterpiece was a shell of its former and intended self, and I gave up. Again, we’re talking lightweight items that collectively weighed no more than 2 lbs. Perhaps my dreams were too lofty for the diminutive thickness of the rod. While the fit was fine in the doorway and easy enough to install, it still didn’t carry the weight. I would not recommend for any job beyond paper thin curtains.
