I loved the featured of this kit and it included everything I needed/wanted. What I like the most is the 2 TB hard drive so I can keep the footage locally. Very well made and built to last.

Knowing that such security systems can cost into the thousands of dollars, one may, depending on one's experience with such things, have to adjust their expectations. That being said, I used to work installing security equipment (years ago) and I have to tell you, the quality of such devices compared to back then has increased by leaps and bounds, while the price has come down to the point that almost everyone can afford a nice unit like this one. Back in the day (when we had to walk through blizzards, up hill both ways) video systems were black and white, and so blurry that many banks kept the still cameras installed because the video quality was so bad on the vid cameras. Nice product, and I recommend.or what it is, what it does, and what it costs: Four StarsI am the Totally Unbiased Reviewer Dude (T.U.R.D.) and that is how I see it.

The main explanation it doesn't get 5 stars is on the grounds that whenever lights are turned here and there in the cameras field of view it sets off a movement recognized reaction. This is a good quality, basic security system. It is a 4k capable system that comes with four 5MP (4K capable) cameras. The NVR features 8 channels, so four more cameras (5MP or less) can be added to the system if desired. The NVR is capable of recording up to 30fps, but the cameras it comes with are able to record at 20 fps. The NVR features a 2TB hard drive, but it is expandable up to 10TB. The cameras are POE and come with 60ft CAT6 cable which is nice. Also, something to note, POE cameras can run up to about 300ft away without needing an additional switch. There is also an HDMI port to be able to hook to a monitor for visual. An app can also be installed to view feed remotely as long as the system is running on Wi-Fi. Amcrest does offer cloud storage through a subscription plan if that is the route you want to go. The cameras are capable of 1 way audio (so you can hear). They are also equipped with a light and night vision that work well. Depending on what the system is being used for, even though the system is capable of 4K quality, if you could get by setting the recording quality at 1080P it would greatly increase the amount of footage that can be stored on the existing 2TB hard drive. If you were to set the system to record constantly at 4K quality, 2TB would last you about two days. The cameras can be set on motion detection but if it's a busy area expect it to record frequently. Overall, this is a good quality system with options to upgrade and comes with everything you need to set up.
