Great little tracker for the money paid. Wished the yearly service was a bit cheaper but it works well. While on a 2 month road trip family members were able to see where we were alleviating any worries. Charge lasts exactly 2 weeks (30 sec update plan) and recharge on the truck inverter took about 3 hours. The waterproof magnetic case is a nice touch so it can be hidden outside. The website/App were easy to use and liked the low battery email notification option that came with the base monitoring package. The phone support was kind of sketchy due to language issues but the email support was much better so we will stick with that in the future. Bought the monitoring package for one year and will definitely renew it because this is so much better than airtags we used previously.

This device feels like it is very well made, feels solid. It also came with a case, which is a nice touch. I suggest you use it as the front of the device scratches easily. This does not effect any usage. It features an "SOS" button which is the only tactical button on the device. I've combed through the menus on the app (more on that later) and it doesn't look like you can set an alarm if someone pushes the button. I did notice that when I push the button, it plots an additional point on the map. This would be good if you want to note a location and go back in the history to find where it is on the map. The only other button is the power button which I find awkward to push. Sometimes you have to push it really hard. It features a SIM card which is already installed but comes with a screw driver in the event you want to swap out the SIM. The charging port, hidden under a flap is USB mini which might annoy some people, for me it's fine. One gripe I have with charging is the device always want to start up once plugged in. This device is water resistant but I haven't tested that aspect of it.To use the device, you can use a browser on a computer or download the app for free for your device. I noticed there was a pro version that was free so I installed that. On my device, an Android, I noticed a line flickering on the left of the screen which is annoying but doesn't effect the use. The app otherwise is straight forward, it shows on a map where the device is. Setting up "geo fencing" is kind of clunky but once you set it up, it works. It can email, text and/or push notification you if the device goes out of a designated area or if it reaches a certain speed. The device tracks by sending it's location periodically over time, say once every 3 minutes. You can change this but if you have it report more often, it requires a higher tiered plan and will reduce battery life. Because of that fact it tracks the device in straight lines on the map between reportings, not following the contour of the road as you would see in your car's GPS. This means if you are traveling through a city like Manhattan it'll show where you went, not necessarily the route you took to get there. As for accuracy, I haven't seen any GPS unit this precise. The device can pinpoint its location even inside my house. I once took it to a Wal-Mart and it accurately tracked me through the store. I was also pushing that "SOS" button constantly and that was very helpful to gauge the accuracy. So who is this device for? It is small and light enough to fit in a pocket, backpack or hand bag. It'll also fit anywhere in a motor vehicle. If you want to track your children or a vehicle or if you run a fleet of vehicle, I can see this useful. The description says it can't be wired in but I don't see why you can't use a phone charger to power it indefinitely. As for pets I could only see this being used on a larger dog. The case has a strap you can use to attach it to a collar. The unit is smaller than those invisible fence units I see around. You could use it on a smaller dog or cat but they would probably hate you for it. I also see this useful for hikers so someone at home can monitor your progress. Keep in mind you would need to be in an area with cell coverage. If you have any of these needs I can recommend this device as it does what it's intended to do.

Overall, I like the device as it is compact and feels well built. Setup is simple and the device worked as expected. The battery life is decent that lasts about 2 weeks before you have to recharge. The device worked well enough if you typically in an area with good GPS signal. The geofencing and motion detection work as expected. The software UI is not the most intuitive to use but it gets the job done. While the monthly plan can be rather expensive if you opt for the shorter reporting interval, the basic plan of 19.99 worked well for me though I do wish the reporting interval can be shorter. I do wish that there is cheaper monthly plan offered. The nice thing is that there is no commitment so you can just pay when you need the service.Good- Simple and easy setup-Decent battery life (about 2 weeks for daily average of 3-4 hours active of tracking at 1 minute interval)-Includes a good case so you can stick to any metal portion of the car-Rechargeable battery-G sensor worked well so the tracking starts when motion is detected-Geofencing-Motion sensor is quite sensitive and works well-No commitment as you can subscribe when you need the service. Not so good.-Mini USB connector. Wish it can be at least micro-USB or even better, USB C-Software UI is not most intuitive to use.-Requires taking the battery out to charge (minor inconvenience because this means that you have to take the unit home to charge and remember to bring back to your car). Maybe swappable battery would be nice-Occasional lag in the notification-Location data sometimes is slightly off-GPS signal may not be the strongest.-Higher reporting interval plan is a bit expensive

PROS:- Device is even smaller than expected- Very long battery life- Text notifications for several options (if desired)- App sync and usage is easy- App tracks current location as well as full trip reviews- Strong and reliable signal strength- Trip reviews stored for several months- Comes with tracker case for protectionCONS:- Monthly fee ($19.99 for least expensive option)- Must be able to recharge trackerMy wife, daughter, and son all drive for various delivery services. As a protective husband and father, I want to be able to help should they ever have an emergency. God forbid something ever happens on a delivery, it would be nice to know where they are.The Amcrest 4G LTE Tracker, combined with the Amcrest GPS Pro app, allow me to track our vehicle with ease. When the vehicle starts in motion for a new trip, I receive a text. When the vehicle has stopped at the end of a trip, I receive a text (no, I do not receive texts at traffic lights, stop signs, etc.). I can receive texts at other times if I wanted (like if the vehicle goes over a certain speed) but I do not have those options active. The Tracker not only allows me to receive text notifications but with the app I can see exactly where my vehicle is and where it’s been throughout a trip. I can see all these trips for several weeks/months. As of today (1/12/21) I can still see every trip back to when I installed the tracker on 11/25/20.Due to the plan I have (lowest cost per month at $19.99, that pings the tracker only once a minute), it may look like your vehicle has been off-roading when viewing a trip. It most likely hasn’t, but because of the delayed pings the lines indicating direction of movement can go over areas that are not roads. That’s neither a pro or con for me but I felt it should be noted. The battery life is very good. It has lasted a week and a half to two weeks at a time for me and the settings/options I use. I did receive a low battery text alert (as set in settings) the first time I had a low battery but, unfortunately, that feature did not work the last two times the battery was low. In fairness, either I didn’t get the alert or I overlooked it so I can’t blame the device or app as a result. It should also be noted that the battery does need to be recharged so if you’re hoping to track a vehicle, say, at your child’s college, either they’ll have to be kind enough to recharge it for you or it will die after a while.Charging of the battery takes time. As I show in one of the pictures, it took me six (6) hours to fully charge the battery from 0% to 100% today. That’s neither a pro or con for me but I felt it should be noted. The signal strength is very good. I wasn’t sure where to put the tracker but ended up with it in the glove box. Even from there, it has never had a connection issue and has worked reliably.Overall, the Amcrest 4G LTE does what I hoped they would and allow me to know where my vehicle is and has been. Although I use it in a vehicle, this device is small enough it could easily be used in a purse, pocket, etc. to track an individual as well (or motorcycle, bike, etc.)

This unit works like they say it will. This unit connected with the cell and gps signals in less than 30sec. for me and that was sitting in the house with it. My unit is on my ebike and it is stored in an area closed in on 3 sides with a tin roof and stays connected. Once it goes into sleep mode it takes very little movement to wake it and to send me a phone message and an email. It works the way I want it to work if someone were to try and cut the locks the movement doing so will wake it and let me know. It is a little pricey for me as I live in Canada so you have to take the exchange rate into consideration on the monthly cost, but I believe it is worth it. I know if some one attempts to take it I will know about it. Yes I would recommend this and it deserves the 5 stars I gave it.
