Description says wall mount which it is not. It connects at the diverter. Useless unless you have a piece of 4 inch pipe hanging around

Very easy to install. Just unscrew old faucet, and screw on new one. Fixed the leaking that we’ve been dealing with for years in 30 seconds!

My house is 19 years old, and it came with Amercian Standard faucets, sinks, toilets, and shower. Our diverter spout was leaking when shower was on. So, I replaced with this one (threaded), exact same size as the old American Standard one. It really was a "plug-n-play." Now it works perfectly. So, if you have American Standard shower system, and the diverter spout is a threaded one, then this should work. Recommended!

The original American Standard shower control set spout lasted 22 years before it began deteriorating like pot metal. This new spout seems heavier and of higher quality. I removed the old crumbling spout, cleaned the pipe threads, and wrapped threads with Teflon tape. This new spout screwed on by hand easily and perfectly. Easy fix. Good value for $.

good heavy chrome plated. description is lacking such as 1/2” FPT starting 3.5” from base of spout. The threads are near the divider. This is the type to buy. Avoid the ones that connect to the rear and pressurized the entire spout.

Replaced an identical spout that, after many years of use, was no longer functioning well (i.e. was not fully diverting water to the showerhead, likely due to accumulation of mineral deposits in the spout). The harder part of the installation was removing the old spout, which had to be unstuck. Once that was done screwing this one on was simple, using a pipe wrench. Just be sure to toss a rag or small towel over it so as to not damage the finish when you grab it with the wrench. Works perfectly, and water is now fully diverted to the shower when needed.

Attaches to your 4-inch copper pipe via IPS threads near the front of the spout. Extends about 5 inches from the wall. Not a slip-on. It's a perfect match for my worn old spout, which was apparently in American Standard's Williamsburg or Hampton family. Replacing it should save a lot of water and lead to longer showers.There was a lot of incorrect or nonexistent information about this product online (really American Standard? Just a little info please), so I hope this helps others.
