I repainted my old kitchen cabinets. Some of the hinges were causing the cabinets to not close all the way. I got these replacements and they work great. They are easy to install with a screwdriver. And now all my cabinets close perfectly!

I bought these for their reasonably priced quality and good customer reviews. I have used them to update my old kitchen cabinet hardware and they really looked great and had a smooth operation.Out of 30 hinges, 2 were unusable due to corrosion on the threads. Luckily those were spares. My only real complaint is now 1-1/2 years later many of the hinges with the most usage were getting pretty squeaky and I had to oil them. Not a big deal, just didn’t expect to have to do that so soon.

I used these door hinges to attach custom doors I made for an IKEA storage bench. The hinges are very reasonably priced (almost $1/hinge) and made my project look nice. These hinges are self-closing hinges, however. They work by inserting a plastic block attached to two spring inside the swivel joint. When the door opens it pushes against the plastic block and compresses the springs in the crevice found in the swivel, and as the door closes the springs uncompress and push the plastic block which then makes the door "self-close". The only problem is that the plastic is machined very tightly in the swivel joint and the two springs really do not have much room to compress, making the swivel joint very hard to open. And since the IKEA storage bench is not made of solid wood, I figured it would not be strong enough to hold the hinge in place (only two 3/4" length screws to hold it, included with the package) when repeatedly opening and closing the doors. To remedy this, I took out the two bolts holding the swivel joints, removed the two springs attached to the plastic block, and then reinserted the plastic block and reassembled it. This allowed the door to open with lesser resistance, albeit at the cost of losing the "self-closing" function. But alas, better to have doors and hinges that stay on the bench than half-hanging doors that "self-close" .This modification would not have been necessary if the wood on which the hinge is bolted can hold the pressure exerted on it when it swivels open. But with all that pressure built up when spring is compressed, the doors may self-close, but with a loud slam! All in all, great looking hinges, more useful when modified.

I've used Ameroc hinges for years. I owned a cabinet shop and for this type of hinge Ameroc was our go to.Its been a while and I ordered the 3428 model, not noticing these are 3/8" offset. I noticed it right away when I started to mount them and the base of the hinge was not in the same plane with the other mounting holes. I wanted the face mount 3429s but I'll keep these. I do enough woodworking I can make a rabbet on future doors. These are good quality, good material and finish. They come in a nice box with all the screws (good ones, not the kind that strip out even in pre-drilled holes. They even come with the little pads so the doors don't make you jump when they close. Good product at a good price but make sure you read the print in the ad copy where it says 3/8" offset.

Our existing hinges were tattered old brass. They had character but were very ugly and after getting rid of all the brass in the house, it was time to replace the kitchen cabinet hinges. These install easily with one person, a pencil, a ruler and a power drill. It took a few hours to remove the old ones and install these on 16 doors but t was well worth it. The product is beautiful, does not look cheap and even closes softer then our old ones. The best part, they stay closed! This was not the case with our old hinges. Remember they do mount to the face of the door - so if you are looking for hidden hinges these are not for you.
