I love these JJ tubes and have used them in all my tube amplifiers. Definitely a must have if you have an amp with 6L6 tubes!!

What a differenceI replaced the JJ’s in my 1996 Peavey duel 212 classic series tube amp and totally woke it up besides the tubes I had in there they were old Made weird noises replacing them with JJ’s wow like I said totally made a difference sounds like I just bought it brand new I will be purchasing more tubes from JJ and the price was awesome guitar center won it over $200 And being a musician on a budget this was 100% perfect

I was looking to buy Groove Tubes from Sweetwater but a rep told me they would not be back in stock until late July, so I decided to try these JJs.I put them in my trusty Peavey Ultra Plus and they put out impressive tone plus I barely had to adjust my EQ to keep the sound I like.I'm aware you're supposed to have the amp biased after replacing tubes but I decided to jam without doing so since the amp had the same 6L6GC type before. So far, so good with several hours of use.Overall, these tubes are quite impressive and offer good value as other brands may be $40 more expensive. I didn't rate longevity of course because the tubes haven't been used and abused for very long yet, so if I remember I'll update this review in several months.As a side note, I also replaced the ceramic fuses in the amp. Terrible. Only 2 of 4 were in the box and the ones the ones that did had the glass tubes rattling around in the bos with very little packaging.

I have been running these for 8 months, gigging almost weekly. They are installed in a Peavey XXX head driving a 4 ohm 4x12 cabinet.These valves are excellent. The sound is supremely transparent, allowing effects and techniques to come through clearly. Pushed hard, they aren't prone to unpleasant break-up. They do not appear to be prone to noise pickup via RF or microphonics.They have longevity that astounds me for a glass envelope valve. As I approach the one year mark, I will pick up another set of these just to have on hand.

Prior to installing these I had a quad set of grade 4 groove tube 6L6 tubes in my amp with 4 tungsol 12ax7 preamp tubes. I have a Peavey JSX 120 watt head. It was a signature Joe Satriani amp. Comparing these to what I had... These have better mids and low mids. And the gain! Oh damn the gain got tighter... And smoother. The amp gained thickness... Honestly I used to have to always have the trebs up to around 8, mids around 6 and the lows maxed to get the tone i liked. The highs are similar, I did not notice a huge difference. But it did create a much bigger thicker tone. I was able to back off a bit on the lows and the mids are just rich/better. I would definitely recommend these if you have gain that is broken up or just not as smooth as you'd prefer.
