ANCEL Solar Wireless Battery Monitor Review On A Scale of 1-10...1) Build Quality>102) Wireless Solar Display>103) Ease of Use>94) Battery Run Time>105) Wireless Range>106) Instruction Manual>87) Features & Settings>78) Value For Money>9NOTES: Overall, I give the ANCEL Wireless Solar Battery Monitor a "7" on a scale of 1-10 and would have actually rated the monitor higher, however, after ordering the battery monitor, I was dissapointed to learn that the monitor doesn't support dual 12v battery setups (which was not mentioned in the Amazon item description) but after contacting a very nice customer service representitive at ANCEL, they confirmed that the monitor could "not" be used on dual-battery systems. That said, Amazon provided a refund and all's well that ends well.

I bought this because I needed to keep an eye on the battery of a vehicle I don't drive very often.. Although this is a powerful little battery monitoring device the unit is relatively small and effective. I also received excellent support from the seller regarding a mounting issue with the device. I do recommend if you need an easy way to monitor and (protect) your vehicle's battery

This device is perfect. It's easy to install. It's just like the first one I bought to monitor my car battery's parameters except this one comes with an additional display and most importantly shows the life of my battery. Now I don't have to keep taking up a lot of time to test the car battery. It literally displays the health condition of my battery and tells me how much life the car battery has everytime I start the car when the display turns on. Sometimes it takes a while but definitely worth it! Also, the display is back lit which means it lights up so it is functional at night as well!

I've been resting this for some time now on my Cherokee as a way to monitor the battery as the car sits for periods at a time. Allowing the vehicle to sit for 5+ days results in a draw down to about 12 volts, at which point the draw seems to dissipate significantly. I cannot confirm if this is in fact coming from the tester or if there is a parasitic draw in the car, but I have done testing and have not personally seen confirmation of a draw. That being said, if you drive your car on a daily basis this is a great way to get a bead on what your charging system and battery are doing without requiring a phone app. Voltage reports seem to be accurate, installation was exceptionally easy and took mere minutes to install on the car as a professional technician. From the comfort of my living room, I can tap the display unit and have everything on hand. The display gets quite bright at night, which could be a detractor if you are driving - I would mount it out of line of sight if necessary to put in the car. Other then the suspected draw, I have no complaints and it seems to do well. It makes it easy to remotely check batteries.

Wired up easily in my rv. Solar charging on the display works great too.

I keep a spare battery (SLA or LiFePo4) for my mobile amateur radio gear continually charged by a roofrack mounted 70W solar panel. This device is what I was looking for. You see, the auxiliary battery sits in the trunk area. So far, I try to monitor its voltage from the dashboard on the line that I brought to the front. This line also powers my radio and APRS setup. I do have a small voltmeter at the end of the line, but as I turn radio(s) in the front on or off the indicated voltage level expectedly changes due to IR-voltage drop on the line. Yes, I could have brought another line just to monitor auxiliary battery voltage, but this is another headache in today's cars and SUVs due to rather tight routing spaces. This device came to the rescue. I mounted the sensor unit on the battery in the back per instruction manual. Now I can monitor the voltage directly across the battery terminals from the front.Voltage reading is accurate to the last digit against my Fluke 87V. Yes, when you first connect the sensor, it's slow to settle to the final value. This is deliberate, let's face it: automobile environment could be harsh in terms if RF-noise. This tells me a lot of filtering us needed for reliable measurements. Once the unit settles, it keeps up with the slow changes that occur during normal charging and discharging cycle of the battery.I do not use my unit for the car battery hence no reading for cranking amps or other features. But one added benefit is that by the voltage difference between the two meters, I now know the magnitude of voltage drop on the line, as well. These are all good so far. The only improvement I could suggest is that the display unit is not very sensitive to the movements as you drive. I wish there was an override to the auto turn-on feature so that I can choose to keep it always on. The solar charger is very good that any ambient light on the road allows it to charge the display unit. I plugged it in via USB cable, it still shuts itself off if the road is smooth. Before I forget, the usable distance between the sensor and display unit is farther than the manual says. I can take the display unit anywhere inside the house it still updates the readings normally. As such, I will be ordering more of these remote meters for monitoring my other 100Ah backup batteries around the house.BTW, I am not in anyway associated with the manufacturer. I am just a happy user. Great unit! Thanks for reading my review. Hope it helps others.
