The measurements do not include the top opening in the description; however, the top of the bowl is 8” wide. This is a perfect size and the glass is very sturdy. It is very elegant looking and was a great price.

We didn't know we needed this until we lost our previous one. This is perfect for desserts for the holiday dinners with the family or ever so modestly fancy and in your face upscale for the book club or dinner with the boss. We put it in the dishwasher for cleanup. What more could we ask?

Really can't say how I would have liked the trifle bowl. When it arrived, it was broken in hundreds of pieces. The bowl was wrapped in one layer of small-bubble bubble wrap and a long wad of brown packing paper was on the top of the bowl. No packing paper under the bowl. No wonder it was broken - one small bump and it would (and did) break. Was very disappointed as it was suppose to be a Christmas present.
