Amazed at how long it holds a charge after being stored!

Be warned. It's too much risk to buy this product at the moment as there is no support or way of making returns if / when something goes wrong. I own a Solix C1000 and was very happy with it and I also own a Powerhouse 555 which I use regularly. Getting the expansion battery for the C1000 seemed like a great idea to double the capacity. The item was partially charged when it arrived and it looked to do the job I needed perfectly. The one main initial downside that I found immediately and that the marketing pictures don't show though is the massive connective cable that adds 60% to the width that the unit takes up with the expansion battery stored on top. This was not ideal but I could live with it. I next tried to charge the expansion battery through my C1000 and hit the first issue. It wouldn't accept charge. The manual says to contact Anker support direct rather than the retails so I did. Anker said it was likely a firmware issue with my C1000 as the BP1000 was a new product. I stuck with them through several rounds of trial and error to get the battery to charge with the battery slowly depleting down to 0% and completely refused to accept any charge. Factory resets and various firmwares had no impact.Eventually Anker advised to return the battery to them but said I'd have to arrange and they'd refund me afterwards the courier cost and then send me a new unit. They advised not to use UPS but that any other company should be fine. This is a lie. I've tried every mainline courier and even some small delivery companies. No one will touch a battery over 100Wh that isn't brand new and being sent direct from the retailer. If it's a return and potentially faulty battery they just flat out refuse. I've tried everything but short of driving it myself to Wales I have no way of "returning" the item for the warranty claim. I asked Anker to arrange the courier collection direct as they obviously can ship out new items but they refused, stating "We regret to inform you that we currently face challenges in providing an effective shipping option in the UK." This is a massive issue. Also if anyone was thinking of not disclosing the contents of a parcel and risk sending a prohibited item (it did briefly cross my mind out of desperation) just be aware that if found out you will lose the item and are personally liable for any costs the courier can justify as damages for breaching their T&Cs and also costs for disposing of the item.I assume it will impact not just Anker but all other manufacturers as well, but it completely invalidates any of their warranty period claims as no used large capacity batteries (>100Wh) can be returned by any UK postal services. Anker claim 5 years on their products but I can't even get help when the item is faulty on arrival. I'm now seriously worried that if I have any issues with my other battery packs even within their warranty periods that they will basically be worthless and I also won't be able to get any support. Until there is a way to return batteries safely for warranty claims I'm afraid I'll be steering clear.

The only way to make it better is to make it rechargeable separately and it should have the same kind of handle as the base model.

Great unit! Doubling run time. Easy connection with umbilical. Shows up on anker Bluetooth app once downloaded and connected. CX1000 charges first and then charging starts on the BP1000 with it showing charging level display on the app. App also allows for high speed charge for both units when selected.

So just got delivered today and I pulled it out the of the box. It’s not super heavy, fairly compact. About the same foot print as the solix. It does have rubber pads but it does still slide when on top of the solix. There should be an indent or some sort of clip to keep it centered on top. Unit has 85% charge out of the box and was fully charged up in 20 min. No issues there. What does bother me is that huge cord hanging off the side. The picture in the description the cord is much shorter. But look at my picture. It’s a good 8” longer than the picture in the description. Honestly for the price I paid for both you could get a single battery bigger unit and not have all this clunkiness. Would not recommend and go for a larger single unit.Performance wise this does work and no complaints there.Cases of beer for scale!
