The device looks rugged and capable. BUT . . Based on the guide this has to be placed at a low height and is not for multiple dogs. Not what I expected. They should have tha in the description

I was so hesitant to buy this product. It reminded me of the mosquito things that supposedly emit some sound to get rid of mosquitoes, and other similar products to "deter pests". If you're skeptical like I was, let me assure you this thing is real, and no joke! We adopted two dogs in January and they are lovely, lovely dogs, but they bark at night. I don't mind them barking during the day, they're dogs after all, but barking at night can't be tolerated, especially since they're barking at imaginary things, or at least things that are no threat to us or our safety. I tried a bark collar but it was too harsh. I got one that beeps, vibrates then zaps and it was way too aggressive for our "soft" dogs. They didn't need that much deterrent. So I bought this and let me tell you, it took TWO NIGHTS and the barking came to a stop. I am not joking or exaggerating. TWO NIGHTS was all it took for my dogs to realize they shouldn't bark at night. And frankly, it only took one night for the first dog, she got blasted by this on the second night because our other dog barked. After the second night, neither of them barks at night anymore, and it's been WEEKS. I was tempted to return this to get our money back because it almost worked too well and now I don't really need it anymore, but I wanted to give the company the money they deserved for making such a great product, so I kept it. Maybe in the future we'll need it for something. I will say that our dogs are rather "soft", in that they are easily trainable and kind of skittish. Your more determined dog may take longer to learn, but I am going to guess most dogs won't need this for long. All those wonderful things being said, I do have a few comments. First, the instructions say not to use this in multi-dog households. Well, they sort of indicate that by some weird pictures in the instructions. At first I didn't understand that, but after having experienced it, ALL of your dogs are going to hear the sound this thing produces whether they were the ones to bark or not. So if you're OK with the idea that even if one dog doesn't bark, but another one does, they're both/all going to get blasted by the sound from this thing, then it works fine. And frankly, although I didn't love the idea of that happening, the outcome was worth it. Frankly there's no way for a human to know how loud this is or what the sound is like (at least no way that I know of), since it is beyond the range of what humans can hear. All I can tell you is that my dogs did NOT like it, when it went off. One immediately just shut up, the other came running to me to cuddle because she was scared. While I don't like my dog being scared, this WORKED, and will make all of our lives better in the future, and it only took TWO TIMES, so I'm ok with that.My second comment is that this would be so much better if it just plugged into a wall socket. That way it would be on all the time, you wouldn't have to worry about the battery dying and having to charge it. Because I only had to use it for TWO DAYS, I honestly have no idea how long the battery lasts. It just seems like a much better design would be to have this plug directly into an outlet, then it's always on and is mounted to the wall all at the same time. And lastly, I really really hate the loud beep this thing makes when you power it on and off. I use beeper training for other issues with our dogs, and turning this thing off in the morning after everyone got out of bed made a horrible beep that totally freaked my dog out, and the same when turning it back on in the evening. No reason for this thing to beep so loudly when turning it on/off.

I would have given it a zero if that was available!False advertising! Nowhere in their description of this product say the dog must be under 50 pounds!!!!!! Even the picture on their advertisement shows a big dog! What a bunch of crap! Now I have to go to the trouble of returning it! Thank God Amazon is so good at returning items!
